Hello crafty friends, Tracy McLennon here today on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog. I am playing with the FabScraps Mother Earth collection of patterned papers perfect for heritage themed layouts.   I have a little vintage scrappy inspiration for you. I have a love for my collection of heritage family photos. I am lucky to have had access to huge photo collection from both sides of my family. So I have scanned, printed and archived many of them. So today I am sharing a layout that I created using a photo of my grandmother (left) and her 2 sisters. I didn’t have the pleasure of meeting any of these beautiful, strong women. But I can create and share their legacy. FabScraps Mother Earth Collection This collection from FabScraps is the perfect pairing with heritage photos. I created a patchwork of pattern behind my photo. Simple squares of multiple patterns, make a…

Hello crafty friends, Tracy McLennon here today on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog to share a little layout that I created. But first, I am going to admit it right now….I LOVE food, and I am one of those people that loves to take photos of beautiful food. So when I saw the Delish Collection from Paper House Productions ….well I knew I would have some fabulous photos to create with. Why do I take photos of food from time to time? Well, it brings back some great memories of vacations, special nights out or even just some of my favourite locally made foods. I remember conversations and occasions when I see the photos. Sometimes you just have to take a second and admire the culinary talent and beauty of some meals. Photos don’t have to always be of people to triggers fabulous memories. The Project The Project Recipe Paper…

If I had a choice of where to live in the entire world it would definitely be somewhere near the sea. There is just something about salty air, the song of the waves and the sweet smell of adventure. There is a cruise line somewhere whose tag line advertisement is “The Sea is Calling”…gets me everytime!  LOL!  BoBunny has a collection of scrapbooking supplies called Down By the Sea. I love the colours of this line and all the fun embellishments that have  a fishy, salty theme, especially the mermaids! LOVE IT! Tracy Mclennon has taken the BoBunny Down By The Sea collection and used it to design her take on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine monthly sketch challenge. Here is the September sketch that Tracy used. This just might be one of my most favourite sketches that Kerry has created, its such a cool concept. I have been enjoying seeing all…

Hello everyone – Tracy McLennon here today on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog sharing this beautiful butterfly card I designed using some of my favourite products from Stampin’ Up!, Ranger, Chameleon Color Tone pens and Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L. I used watercolour paper and Tim Holtz for Ranger Distress Oxide Inks to create this rust like background. To do this you need a non stick craft mat. Stamp the ink directly onto the craft mat, spray with water and mix with your fingers. Then dip the paper into the ink/water mixture. Dry with a heat gun. Then do the same with the next colour of ink. Dry again with a heat gun. Do the same with the third colour of ink. You can continue this process until you get the coverage you desire.I stamped this beautiful Stampin’ Up! butterfly image on white cardstock using Early Espresso Stampin’ Up! dye ink.…

Hello everyone Tracy McLennon here today! This was my first time creating a layout using an 8×12 photo. I was inspired by seeing others online using large photos on scrapbook layouts and decided to take the leap. 8X12 is a full frame image, and almost always a size option where ever you go to print your photos.SUPPLIES: Creative Memories patterned paper, stickers, circle cutters and circle punches, Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L double sided tape, E-Z Runner Grand tape runner, 3D Foam Squares and Adhesive Dots. I chose this photo of my water loving pooch at sunset, to pair with the super cute Fur Buddies collection from Creative Memories. Some simple patterned paper layers create the base of this layout. Then you get to add all of those adorable coordinating stickers and embellishments. Throw on some coordinating buttons and you have a striking layout. Have a wonderful day everyone Tracy To…
