Hello! Noreen Smith here, and Iβm very happy to be on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog today to share some Christmas projects using Creative Memoriesβ Sugarplum Collection! This sweet collection features a Paper Pack, Stickers, Embellishments, coordinating Vellum Papers, a foiled Album cover and Fast2Fab Pre-printed Album pages! The designs are inspired by holiday candy, dΓ©cor and classic Christmas icons, as well as whimsical, playful patterns that also make it perfect for birthdays, Winter, babies and more.
Some might comment that at first glance the collection doesnβt seem too Christmas-y as it features a lot of pastels. But of you remember that colors like pink and mint green are just tinted versions of the more traditional Christmas colors of red and green, youβll realize that they really are quite versatile! Since there were some cute candy and gingerbread house icons in the sticker pack, I used the collection to document our family holiday tradition of decorating a gingerbread house. As you can see, although the photos do have some candy colors in them, there arenβt any pastel colors, yet the papers and stickers work really well with the photos! So βsweetβ!

To make this layout I used two pieces of Navy Cardstock as the base. I cut one piece of double sided paper featuring the zig-zaggy chevron pattern and the overall mint green pattern with the 12β Straight Trimmer at 4.5β, 5β, and 5.5β. (You will have one 4.5β x 12β strip, two Β½β x 12β strips and one 6.5β x 12β strip.) I flipped two of the strips over and adhered them to the background pages so that they met in the middle of the layout, and the patterns alternated for contrast and variety.
Then I cut two 2β x 12β strips from the gold geometric patterned paper and two 1.5β x 12β strips from White Cardstock which I mounted on top of the gold geometric paper. I used Foam Squares to mount one of the Gingerbread People sticker strips onto each border. I adhered the borders across both pages, about 1β up from the bottom edge of my base.
The photos are all standard 4β x 6β size, matted by more of the white cardstock so they stand out from the patterned paper or the dark navy background. I used the Pastel Pink and Mint Green ABC/123 Stickers for the title and added the coordinating Sugarplum Stickers, and die-cuts and adhesive gems from the Sugarplum Embellishments Pack.
I also couldnβt resist adding a little sparkle to my layout. I used CMβs new Precision Point Liquid Adhesive Pen to doodle a few simple swoopy designs and dots to the background and gently shook some glitter powder (from Michaelβs) over top. Once the adhesive dried, I was left with lovely iridescent dots and swirls! I used the same technique to edge the die cut tags and larger stickers with the glitter. Itβs like adding frosting to this already sweet Sugarplum collection!
I also used the Sugarplum collection to create a couple of super-fast & super-easy Christmas cards. Again, even though the colors are pastel, there is no disputing that the imagery and sentiments are all about Christmas!
