Hello everyone, Kelly Klapstein here today playing with some of my Kelly Creates products to bring you a cute little Halloween card. Halloween Card with a black bat on it designed by Kelly Klapstein featuring Kelly CreatesWhen it comes to Halloween, I am more into the ‘cute’ spooky projects than the scary ones. Let’s just say I have an overactive imagination and avoid anything gory! Free Halloween Template designed by Kelly KlapsteinFor this Halloween “Boo” card, I’ve included a template for you to trace and draw a bat along with practicing hand lettering.

Deluxe Lettering KitKelly Creates Deluxe Lettering Kit Black Fineliners American Crafts Kelly Creates Black Fineliner Pens Bullet Tip Metallic Jewel “Gold” penKelly Creates Bullet Tip Metallic Pens Project padKelly Creates Be Inspired Project Pad You’ll also need scissors, adhesive, and a paper trimmer. Cutting out a bat template designed by Kelly KlapsteinStep 1 – Download and print the PDF template. Cut out the bat and trace it onto black card stock with a pencil. Tracing a bat template onto Kelly Creates black cardstock.Step 2 – Cut out the bat from the black card stock in Kelly Creates Project Pad. The Project Pad has silky smooth white, kraft and black card stock, and I used all three for this card. Practice hand lettering BOO template designed by Kelly Klapstein for Kelly CreatesStep 3 – Use the tracing template to practice drawing the words “Boo to You!” Doodling on a black paper bat using a Kelly Creates Metallic Gold Bullet tip pen.Step 4 – With the Kelly Creates Gold Metallic Jewel Bullet Tip Pen, draw “Boo” on the black bat and add extra details, like a face and outline.Boo Halloween Card hand lettering with the Kelly Creates Black Fineliner Step 5 – Cut a white piece of paper for the card front and pencil in “to you” near the bottom. Trace over with a Kelly Creates Black Fineliner and then erase the pencil lines. Kelly Creates Deluxe Lettering Kit RulerStep 6 – Use a ruler with the Black Fineliner to add lines around the bottom edges of the white cardstock. Drawing a spider web on kraft colored cardstock using a Kelly Creates black fineliner penStep 7 –  Cut out the card base from the Kraft card stock in the Kelly Creates Project Pad. My card base measures larger than the white piece because I drew a spider web at the top. Outlining a hand drawn spider web on a halloween card using a Kelly Creates Black fine liner brush pens.Step 8 – To make the web stand out, I added some bold black lines with the Kelly Creates Fine Brush pen (in the Deluxe Lettering kit). You can actually use this bat template in many different ways: on a scrapbook layout, as a name card for a Halloween meal, wrapped around a chocolate bar, or as a tag for a treat bag.

See! Halloween hand lettering doesn’t have to be so scary!
