Happy Holidays! Noreen from OrganizedandCreativeMom.com here to share a couple of whimsical (and super easy) Christmas cards with you!
You might remember that we made up the Creative Memories Holly Jolly Card Kit together during this Facebook Live on the CSM Facebook Page way back in August, and after I made them I thought I had all the cards I needed. BUT, when I saw these adorable die-cut Embellishments and fun Christmas Paper Pack from the Creative Memories Christmas Spirit Collection, I couldn’t resist playing around and creating a few more! Let me show you how to make these fun and festive cards. For the Snowman card you’ll need:
- a standard size card base (8.5” x 5.5”) cut from Scarlet Cardstock
- a piece of White Cardstock cut to 4” x 5.25”
- a piece of Red and Green Striped Christmas Spirit Paper cut to 4” x 5.25”
- Snowman, Tree, The Magic of Christmas die-cuts and the adhesive gems from the Christmas Spirit Embellishments
- a piece of scrap White Cardstock measuring at least 4” w x 1.5” h.
- Custom Cutting System Red Blade and Oval Templates
- 12” Trimmer with Straight and Scoring Blades
- 12” Decorative Trimmer
- Tape Runner Adhesive
- Dual-Tip Pen
First, score the card base at 4.25” along the 8.5” side with the Scoring Blade and the 12” Trimmer. Fold in half. Centre and adhere the striped paper to the front of the card base with Tape Runner Adhesive. Use the smallest Oval Template and the Red Blade to cut an oval from the centre of the card front. (TIP: Discard the ovals or save to use on another card!) Adhere the piece of White Cardstock and the Tree embellishments to in the inside of the card. Cut one long edge of the small scrap piece of White Cardstock with the wavy blade of the !2’ Decorative Trimmer (or, draw a wavy line and cut out with scissors). Adhere the wavy strip across the bottom of the oval opening on the card front. Add the Snowman on top of this white “snow” drift, and The Magic of Christmas sentiment across the top of the oval opening. Add gems to the tree and write your message inside. So cute and so easy! For the Cookies card you’ll need:
- a standard size card base (8.5” x 5.5”) cut from Scarlet Cardstock
- a piece of Green Baking Christmas Spirit Paper cut to 4” x 5.25”
- Claus, Gingerbread Star Cookie and Baking Spirits Bright die-cuts and the adhesive gems from the Christmas Spirit Embellishments
- Custom Cutting System Red Blade and Oval Templates
- 12” Trimmer with Straight and Scoring Blades
- Tape Runner Adhesive
- Dual-Tip Pen
Again, start by scoring the card base at 4.25” along the 8.5” side with the Scoring Blade and the 12” Trimmer. Fold in half. Use the smallest Oval Template and the Red Blade to cut an oval from the centre of the card front. Centre and adhere the green baking paper and the Mrs. Claus die-cut to the inside of the card base with Tape Runner Adhesive. Adhere the Baking Spirits Bright die-cut across the bottom of the oval opening on the card front and the Gingerbread Star Cookie at the top of the oval opening. Add a few pearls to the outside of the card, then use the Dual-Tip pen to add dashes around the oval and write your message inside. This sweet little card would be perfect to give with a gift of homemade cookies, am I right? With all the cute options in the die-cut embellishment pack I’m sure you can come up with even more great ideas for cards like these. Have fun creating! Happy Crafting!
