Today on our blog we welcome Nadine Wachter, who is sharing some fabulous Bo Bunny Christmas cards! Happy Monday Canadian Scrapbookers! I am Nadine Wachter, and I am so grateful to be here guest blogging today. My busiest time is the Christmas season, and I can often be found buried in patterned paper. The cards that I am sharing with you today were created as a card class for Treasured Memories. The great thing about all my classes is that I also turn them into take home kits. If youโre not able to attend class you donโt have to worry about missing out. The kits come with all the product, photos & instructions that you would need to create the cards in the samples. The other great thing isย the staff will mail the kits out to you. No one gets left out. (Not to toot my own horn, but I…
Today on our blog, we welcome Marcy Penner, who is sharing her scrapbooking process with Project Life. Hi everyone. I’m honoured to be sharing one of my Project Life spreads with you all today. This is my fourth year using pocket pages in my scrapbooking, and I’m still loving it. It’s a little bit of a visual diary and encompasses all kinds of little details and memorabilia that don’t make it onto my regular layouts. This year I tackled a 9×12โ size and snuck a 6×8โ Handbook size in during the summer months. I’m excited to carry on with this project next year as well. I’ll be detailing my approach for 2015 on my blog in the near future so I’d love it if you’d stop by! Note: I created a 9×12โ album by trimming down an American Crafts 12×12 album and by trimming off the last three inches of…
Today on our blog we welcome Wilna Furstenberg, an artist who has developed a passion for scrapbooking and inspires us through her classes and workshops, and especially her fabulous layouts. Hi to my fellow Canadians! My name is Wilna Furstenberg, and I am a very proud Canadian! I am a scrapbooker and product designer and have been a part of the Scrapbooking Industry since 2003. I would love to tell you my story today. Go and grab a Timmies (Medium with 2 milk for me) and come and hang out with me while I entertain you with tidbits of my life. I was born and raised in South Africa and graduated with a degree in Fine Arts at the University of Pretoria in 1996. I painted huge oil paintings in those 4 years, and little did I know then that most ofย my lifeโs creative work would be 12×12 inches! I…
Hello crazy crafters! My name is Candace Robichaud from Edmonton, Alberta and I am ridiculously thrilled to be a guest blogger for my all time favorite magazine today (total brownie points)! I own my own automotive magazine Carsgone.com (shameless plug), I am an aspiring photographer and have a background in graphic design. I have been scrapbooking for about 8 years and am currently on the design team for Treasured Memories. I also pretend to work there a lot, and sometimes they even let me design their amazing month kits! It is one of my favorite things to do besides sip a Timmies Ice capp, surf Netflix, or enjoy a foot massage from my 10 yr old daughter Tayla who happens to be well-trained. All of the projects that I am pumped to share with you today were created with the Treasured Memories October Month kit, which I put together and…
Today on our blog we welcome Karan Gerber, who is on the Design Team for Heartfelt Creations! Hello everyone! My name is Karan Gerber, andย I am thrilled to be with you here today. I reside in a small town called Sebringville, just minutes West of Stratford, Ontario. Iย have beenย on the Design Team for Heartfelt Creationsย since November 2013 and have been invited to join them for another year heading into 2015. Today we welcome Darlene Madden, an amazingly talented mixed media artist who creates mosaic works of art. โWe are mosaics–pieces of light, love, history, stars–glued together with magic and music and words.โย unknown I do not know if mosaic art found me, or I found mosaic art….regardlessย while on this journey called Life, I found myself at an unexpected detour and change became my reality.ย It was during this time that I attempted my ๏ฌrst mosaic, and the parallels of putting the pieces of my life back together and mosaic art became apparent.ย I make art to express, to relax, to play and to feed my soul. My work has a unique ๏ฌavor due to my choice of materials and the fact that I invite viewers to touch the ever growing textures that I incorporate into each piece. Found objects are always ๏ฌnding a way into my pieces, whether it be a…
Today we welcome Sylvie Hoobanoff as our guest blogger, who will share some fabulous graduation layouts she has completed for her daughter. Hi there! My name is Sylvie Hoobanoff and Iโm very happy to share a project Iโve been working on with you today. I live in beautiful Canal Flats, BC with my husband of 25 years. This fall we became empty nesters when our 18 year old daughter, Julia, went away to college and our 17 year old son, Nick, went away to play Junior B hockey. Now that my car pooling days are over, I am hoping to find more time for my passion of paper crafting and scrapbooking. My daughter graduated high school in June 2014. After the two day event, I had over 100 photos to scrapbook! There were professional photos, personal photos that I took and even some I borrowed from my daughterโs friends from…
Hi all! It’s Cathy Caines here to share some fun Halloween projects featuring Stampin’ Up! The ghosts and goblins have been out to play in my backyard since September began. I love to create for Halloween!!ย ย It could be that I get giddy at the thought of candy or that I have an excuse to search Pinterest for cool costume ideas. Regardless, if you have Halloween on your mind, here areย some fun ideas using Stampinโ Up! products. First, you need a banner โ this banner was created using the Chalkboard Banner Simply Created Kit. I used white Staz-On and stencils to create the word โBOOโ, as well as rubbed it around the edges. This gave it a more spooky feel but chalk would also do the trick. My daughter would say that treats are the most important thing and most definitely the priority. I couldnโt agree more. I created this…
Today we welcome Adel Otto as our guest blogger who designs wonderful scrapbooks with pocket pages. I’m probably a Canadian memory keeper just like you: a dark roast coffee drinker, Netflix voyeur , a teacher, a wife, and a mother to four teenagers. My memory keeping style is “pretty storyteller”, so I like to capture adventures, transformations and celebrations in a lovely, bright and layered way. I can be found sharing on Instagramย aottocafe and at my blog “Studio Latte.” Are you head over heels over pocket pages? Maybe you can’t believe you are finally recording your stories again because of Project Life or you love the Simple Stories Snap albums or Studio Calico Handbook. I had a mad crush on pocket pages for two years before I started adding 12×12’s back into my albums. Even though pocket page spreads provide a lot of options for memory keeping, I often…
