Today on our blog we welcome Michelle Marks, who is going to show you how she used our Sketchy Challenge to design cards! Happy Spring dear Canadian Scrapbooker readers…ummm…at least I’m hoping it’s spring somewhere in Canada by now because it sure hasn’t reached Nfld yet! Michelle here today from Corner Brook, Nfld. Apparently I’m supposed to tell you a little about me so here goes. I’m a 47 year old mom to two β€œalmost” grown kids, a daughter 21 years old and a son 19 years old. I am also spoiled wife to Rob, and this summer we will be celebrating our 25th anniversary. Our home also houses a small zoo…one cat, one geriatric dog, two dwarf hamsters and some fish… plus a gazillion wild birds that empty my feeders faster than I can fill them. There’d be a lot more animals if my kids had their way but…

Today, we welcome guest blogger Alison Krogsgaard, who creates wonderful projects with Close To My Heart! Hello there! Wow, I am beyond excited to have the privilege and honor to share a bit about myself and Close to My Heart on the Canadian Scrapbooker blog! I am a thirty-something year old mom to 5 year old twins, happily living in Whitecourt, Alberta, and if you can imagine it, you’d think I was one of my children with all the squealing, dancing and overall giddiness I experienced when I receivedΒ the invitation to be a guest blogger! For me, this is a huge honor! In addition to being a mom to busy twins (who also like to β€˜scrapbook’ and β€˜make cards’), I’m also a stay at home mom, and most recently a Close to My Heart consultant. Deep down, I had secretly always thought selling paper crafting supplies would be awesome (and…

Today on our blog, we welcome Tracy McLennon to share her talents using May Arts Ribbon. Hi! My name is Tracy McLennon, and I am really so humbled to have been asked to share some of my crafty life with all of you here on the Canadian Scrapbooker blog. But first, here is a little bit about me. I live my crafty life on the east coast of Canada in Truro, Nova Scotia. What makes my world go round is my talented band teacher hubby, 2 beautiful teenage step daughters, and our crazy rescue pooch Kya. I have the best crafty friends around too! I have been scrapbooking and teaching paper crafting for about 17 years now, and in that time I have seen SO many changes, and love how the art has evolved. My style would best be described as clean, classic design. I love to mix patterns and…

Painted Blooms Designer Series Paper If I won the lottery I would do three things: Get a live-in cook or at least go out to extravagant restaurants on a regular basis…or both. Hire a personal photographer to document the events in our lives Buy fresh flowers for multiple rooms in my home every week So, you’d think that if I would do #3, then I must love flowers in paper crafts. Not so. In fact, I cringe at the thought of a flower on my page… even worse a butterfly. Yet… here I am. The minute I opened my Stampin’ Up! box, I went down in my craft room to see what the Painted Blooms Designer Series Paper what all about. Maybe it’s because spring is never coming here in Newfoundland.Β Β  I am pretty sure we are skipping summer all together. Sure, spring came just last week when it was…

Today on our blog, we welcome Karen Hach, a really talented scrapbooker who designs for scrapbook stores in Edmonton. Hi there! My name is Karen Hach and I am so thrilled that I was asked to share a little bit about myself with you. Let’s get to the personal stuff first. I have been married for 13 years to a wonderful man who not only supports my complete and utter addiction to scrapbooking, but also understands it. He also is cool with my need to get away for crops and bonding time with my scrapbook gang. Yes, that is a real thing. When we built our new home, he encouraged me to take up a large chunk of our basement with a custom-designed scrapbook studio. I am lucky enough to be a stay-at-home mom to four very active boys, aged 10, 6, and 3 year old twins. Two of them…

Today on our blog, we welcome Kathy Jo Wood who makes stunning cards with Quietfire Design stamps and dies! Hello Canadian Scrapbookers! My name is Kathy Jo Wood,Β  and it is an honor to be a guest blogger today! A little about me: I live in Waverley Nova Scotia with my handsome hubby, Greg. We are both mechanical engineers, we play ultimate Frisbee together, watch baseball and football together, and we are fortunate to have the best friends, families and furry family that two people could ever dream! Our furry family members include our sweet Saint Bernard, Ella, and three fluff ball kitties Ginger, Pepper and Nico. Most days I am in my craft room. During the work week I try to get into my craft room by 9pm, and it is not surprising for me to head to bed at midnight or after. I really enjoy my crafty time…

Today on our blog we welcome Kristine Davidson, a scrapbooker and sketch artist who is on the Simple Stories Design Team! Hello Friends, my name is Kristine Davidson. I am on the East Coast in New Brunswick, and hopefully when you read this, the snow will have melted! I’ve been married for 14 years and have 2 cats named Archie and Willie who keep me busy removing cat hair from my glue dots!Β  I work full-time as a sales and service agent for an airline company and love to spend my spare time being creative. I’ve always been interested in arts and crafts since I was a young girl. I’ve cross stitched, made candles, lampshades, tole painting and scrapbooking has been my passion for several years. I’ve been an avid scrapbooker since 2008 and am completely addicted to pop dots and die cuts! I don’t think I’ve ever created a…

A huge hello to everyone out there in the paper crafting world! I was absolutely delighted to be invited as a guest blogger, featuring Magenta Style products. A little about me: I live in Antigonish, Nova Scotia, a mom of 20 yr old twins (girl & boy), married for nearly 23 years, a Registered Nurse going on 29 years and yes, I am addicted to anything and everything in the paper crafting world! I’ve been crafty throughout my entire life in one way or another but was not introduced to scrapbooking until 2006. It took one home party to get me craving for more. Scrapbooking turned into card making which turned into mix media, home dΓ©cor, etc, etc. I am not a routine person, and I tend to get bored easily so paper crafting for me is the PERFECT right brain activity. The moment I find myself β€œbored” I switch…

Hi all, I look at this picture and I see my daughter’s energy explode off the paper. I see fun. I see beauty. I see youth. Most certainly, I see happy. And that was the inspiration for my layout this month. I started out with a 12×12 sheet of the Irresistibly Yours Specialty Paper by Stampin’ Up! It has a glossy resist pattern that I thought could be fun. (Side note: This is one of the exclusive Sale-a-bration products that can be yours with a $60 order) In my typical lazy style, I decided to β€œsee what happen” I squeezed some refill ink over the paper. Yes, it did go through the paper because I didn’t want to apply a layer of gesso over top of the glossy resist… it certainly wasn’t my smartest idea. After I realized that this wasn’t going to work without watercolour paper, I grabbed a…

Today on our blog, we welcome Kerry Engel.Β  We love Kerry’s artistic style of scrapbooking! Hello everyone, my name is Kerry Engel.Β  I am a scrapbooker, amateur photographer, wanna be art journaler (it’s a word – I looked it up) and an on-line learning junkie.Β Β I built my first scrapbook back in 1988 with photo corners, a black pen, a Hutchings and Patrick Scrapbook and probably rubber cement. I googled Hutchings and Patrick and they are now listed as vintage on Etsy.Β  Gotta say, that kind of hurts. I also need to confess that I was editor of my high school year book, so I’ve been addicted to memory keeping for a very long time. I first heard about ‘modern’ scrapbooking back in 1993 as we drove through Utah. I remember getting all excited listening to the lady on the radio talk about acid free papers and books. It wasn’t until…
