Dance competition season has ended in our home. This is both a sad time as the costumes and solos are put away in the memory boxes and an exciting time as we move forward and begin to plan for next year. I thought I would share with  you what we actually do at competitions……. First we do a whole pile of hurrying up and get there so that we can hurry up and wait!!!!! Lots of time is spent visiting, stretching and trying to get rid of the nerves! I actually love this part the best – connecting with the girls, visiting, laughing, being silly cause we are almost always tired from all the travelling! Very often during these times I have my work with me.  This weekend I had the Kodak proofs for the Summer issue that I was editing while waiting! Next – we get ready! There is a…

Man oh Man – Time flies!  My youngest turned 7 years old yesturday! Liam had our traditional donut cake!  This is a HUGE hit in our house!!! Everyone loves donuts! The rest of his birthday was inspired by the MUST SEE movie – How to Train Your Dragon We just went to see this movie in IMAX and absolutely fell in love with it.  It was the first time Hannah, Hayden and Liam have ever been to an IMAX film and they were shocked and thrilled!  I had such a big smile just watching Liam as things popped out of the screen at him! Viking armor was a huge hit and enough was purchased for us all to play outside afterwards!  Madeline was one of the dragons chasing everyone – that was hilarious!  Wish I had a picture to share of that! Here is Liam all ready to go!!!! Here…

After seven months of dancing 4-5 times a week – festival season is knocking on our door! This is a typical tap class. Eila (young lady in the middle) is a fabulous tap instructor – she has really inspired Madeline to be a tap dancer – as tapping is not one of Madeline’s favourite classes. My Hannah bear gets to play with make-up! Which is unusual as she is my tomboy! I am not sure for how much longer though – she has been coming out of her shell a little more in the last 1/2 year. Madeline is growing up so fast! PLEASE slow down just a little! These two girsl are super duber ATHLETIC! Alley Cat and Hannah Bear! After they dance an elegant jazz duet – they go outside and CHUCK the baseball around!  Makes me smile. These three girls spend most of the day giggling and smiling!…

My scrapbooking area is everyones in our house. My little people are allowed to use whatever they like AS LONG AS they put everything away when they are finished! I have been known to go completely CRAZY if there is a big mess (that I didn’t make – that might not be very fair – but its the deal in our house that everyone has to live with) The positives of this aggreement far out weigh the negatives. I am showered with albums filled with layouts that they have created – just for me (better then flowers)! I love seeing their stories and adventures through their eyes rather then mine. Their layouts inspire me and remind me what scrapbooking is really about. I have a spot on the corner of my desk that I display the latest creations on.  My daughter Hannah designed this one about me. I have to tell you it makes me giggle!…

After we got home from dance last night, my daughter Madeline turned on Season 1 of Glee!  I was giggling so HARD:-P .  The characters are just priceless! Needless to say – Madeline and I stayed up until 5:00AM finishing the entire series!!!!!!!!! I went to bed smiling cause I just love how it ended!!!!!! Totally looking forward to Season 2 to come out on DVD. That being said – not sure why I have to be such a compulsive maniac and watch it right to the end. Today has been filled with lots of coffee and me trying not to be grouchy! Wish me luck!
