As we move closer to Motherโ€™s Day and longer into this pandemic, I am starting to miss the physical connections I have with other humans. Motherโ€™s Day will especially be hard as I traditionally celebrate so many beautiful women in my life in person. What I wouldnโ€™t do right now for some hugs with my own mother, my โ€˜personโ€™. For now, I will be building that love bigger and bigger until we embrace it again. โ€œIf flowers were hugs, Iโ€™d send you thousand.โ€ Those words from the Abstract Impressions stamp set by Stampinโ€™ Up! spoke to me. They seemed to be exactly what I wanted to say. And not just to my mother but to so many of my family and friends. Typically, I am not a big hugger but after this pandemic, you can be certain that Iโ€™ll turn into a regular โ€œhug-o-monsterโ€. Look out world because Iโ€™ll be…

Artย  Impressions stamps capture real life for so many women. The confident ladies strutting their stuff in the Girlfriends Make the Best Accessories stamp reminds me of me and my friends when we go for lunch. I wanted to make the ladies a bit glitzy so I used the paper piecing technique on their sunglasses and purses. A little glitter goes a long way! I also tried something different for me, I applied Ranger Tim Holtz Oxide inks onto foiled Therm O Web Gina K. Designs Foil-Mates paper. It turned out really well. The inked and foiled background looks like a Vegas night sky. Hereโ€™s how I created this look: 1. Stamp the Art Impressions Girlfriend stamp on watercolor paper and fussy-cut the ladies. 2. Stamp the Ranger Oxide Inks on a non-porous surface and add water, using a paintbrush paint your stamped image 3. Stamp the image a second…

Hello everyone, Kelly Klapstein here today on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog. In this time of isolation, it is challenging to get together with loved ones. Sending a handmade card to your mother or mother figure is the perfect way to show your love and gratitude. Here is a simple watercolor tulip card you can make in minutes. SUPPLIES: watercolor paper, Kelly Creates Aqua Brush pens or similar water-based brush pens, Black Fineliner or sentiment stamp, water, paintbrush or water brush, ribbon, cardstock. Brush the watercolor ink onto your card to form the tulip in 3 parts: centre, left, and right. Add as many tulips as you like. I did three. With a green Aqua Brush, lightly brush 3 stems in a downward motion. Add leaves with a similar motion and stroke except make them pointy at the tip and wider in the middle. Add a second color to the…

Hello, Connie Nichol here today with two cards featuringย  the Art Impressions Succulents stamps and dies set.ย  These stamps are so pretty and succulents are so trendy right now! I stamped them with Ranger Archival Black Ink , coloured them with Chameleon pens. Next I cut them out with the coordinating dies and stuck everything together with Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L adhesives.ย  Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L 3D foam squares are perfect for adding dimension to a row of succulents.ย  I put a coat of Glossy Accents on a few of the flowers to add some gloss and dimension and dabbed some Stickles glitter glue on some of the foliage.ย  Small details but it’s the little things that make cards extra special. The background patterned paper is from this wood and gingham basics paper pad from Simple Stories.ย  This paper pad is HUGE and has awesome colors and patterns. Thanks for…

Hello everyone Kerry Engel here today on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog playing with Heartfelt Creations. I love growing Calla Lilies and every year I have several blooming in my yard so of course I was instantly drawn to this Heartfelt Creations collection. Once I start making flowers I end up making a bouquetโ€™s worth. They are addictive and so rewarding. The Heartfelt Creations, Calla Lily collection is made up of papers, stamps and dies that coordinate for easy, beautiful floral creativity. I did a little research on the colors of Calla lilies – to help me with my card making. According to the Proflowers website: White symbolizes purity and innocence. Yellow symbolizes gratitude. Pink symbolizes appreciation and romance. Purple symbolizes royalty and admiration. Black symbolizes elegance and mystery. Red symbolizes beauty and courage. โ€ฆ.Good info to know when youโ€™re making cards! Hereโ€™s how I created my flowers: Using the…

The very talented, Annette Allen,ย  designed this gorgeous card featuring Pink & Main!ย  It is so stinking cute! Here are her directions just for you!!!! Die cut the Holiday Scene on white card stock. You will not need all the pieces. I left out all the Christmas dies to create a camp scene instead. Die cut the designer paper on the background die and adhered to the base as the background scene. Now it is time to adhere your 3D card together so you can build your scene. Stamp the sentiment on white card-stock. Die cut your images using the coordinating die set. Stamp your sentiment on a separate piece of white card-stock and die cut using the sentiment strip dies. Die cut all sizes of the trees from the Holiday Scene die set multiple times. Now it is time to build your scene. First, add your colored image to…

Hello Creative Scrapbookers! Iโ€™m Jayme Loge, a proud member of the Creative Scrapbooker team, and Iโ€™m delighted to share some layouts and cards I made with Simple Stories adorable spring and Easter line, Hip Hop Hooray! I had a lot of fun playing with these papers and was so happy to scrapbook 4 years’ worth of Easter and spring photos. You can watch my daughter grow and change with each layout. The first layout shows my preschool Avery hard at work coloring eggs. I wanted to add a bit of mess to my layout to echo what was going on at the kitchen table, so I added some pigment powder to my embossing paste (from Ranger) and applied some through a stencil (Stampers Anonymous Tim Holtz) and some just smudged around. The Hip Hop Hooray stickers and Bits & Pieces are perfect for adding quick finishing touches- LOVE that! Next…

Itโ€™s been 5 weeks since the birth of my third child, Claire. Itโ€™s about this stage when you are craving some of your old routines. For me, thatโ€™s crafting. It can be incredibly hard to find that inspiration and get back into your creative self especially with limited time. Itโ€™s always nice to be pushed by challenges or to be inspired by someone elseโ€™s work. Keeping it simple has always been a great way for me to get my juices flowing. For this monthโ€™s project, I have used the By the Dock Bundle by Stampinโ€™ Up!. You can find this bundle in their Occasions Catalogue. Living on the East Coast of Canada means that I am always pulled towards anything nautical so this stamp set and coordinating framelits are a must-have item. The first step I did was to water colour several images from this stamp set. This time I…
