Aloha featuring Heartfelt Creations and Stabilo

Hello everyone Kerry Engel here today on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog. I’ve loved plumeria since I first went to Hawaii in (cough, cough) 1974. I just couldn’t resist Heartfelt Creations Plumeria and their Tropical Paradise Collection. It just makes me smile. It reminds of Hawaiian leis, beaches and Don Ho’s “Tiny Bubbles” (it was 1974, remember?). To create the flowers I stamped one set in pink (and one in orange) Clearsnap ColorBox ink. I left everything on the stamp positioner so that I could stamp on top and then emboss once I was done coloring. I embossed with Clearsnap ColorBox clear embossing powder.I coloured the stamps with Stabilo Carbothello chalk pastel pencils. I blended the colours with a blending nib. I did the same thing with the Parrot. Cloud Splash Decorative Paper by Marie Browning for Tombow Make beautiful cloud splash paper for a decorative page in your scrapbook or cut it down for inspiring cards.Materials Tombow Xtreme Tape Runner Tombow Blending Kit Tombow Dual Brush Pen, 555 – Aquamarine Watercolor paper Uncooked rice Instructions Step 1: Cover the Blending Palette from the Blending Kit with ink from the Dual Brush Pen in 555-Aquamarine. Place the palette face down onto the watercolor paper, then lift.Step 2: Dry off the palette with a paper towel. Repeat step 1 to cover the entire piece of watercolor paper. Do this quickly to avoid the splash from drying. If it does dry, just spritz on a little water with the mister to moisten.Step 3: Immediately sprinkle on uncooked rice onto the still wet paper.Step 4: Let dry and brush off the rice. The resulting decorative paper can be used for a scrapbooking…

Happy Easter Card with Katelyn Grosart

Hey Creative Scrapbooker Fans! With Easter right around the corner, I thought I would share with you today an Easter card for that special someone in your life. Using the Butterfly Kisses Collection from Bo Bunny, a variety of dies from Elizabeth Craft Designs, stamps, stones and embossing powder from Emerald Creek Craft Supplies and a variety of products from Ranger Ink, I was able to create this beautiful Easter card. You’ll want to make sure to grab a cup of your favourite beverage, as I will show you how to recreate this project in the comforts of your own home. Using the Gatefold – Elegant Rose die from Elizabeth Craft Designs, die cut the gatefold out of Tutu Double Dot from Bo Bunny. With the gatefold cut out, trim two pieces out that measure 2” x 1 ¾”. Hoppy Easter to you! Easter is just around the corner and I made a rustic little framed bunny card for Xyron. How can you not love these mossy little bunnies! The Xyron Create a Sticker works wonders for attaching the moss. The Ornate Frame 2 die is the perfect frame for this adorable bunny. Applying the Ranger Emboss It dauber makes for fast application. Sprinkle with Emerald Creek Craft Supplies Oil Rubbed Bronze embossing powder then rub the edges clean for a rustic worn look. Exposing the edges allows to some inking with Ranger Brushed Corduroy distress ink. The Create a Sticker is the perfect size for those smaller die cuts to apply adhesive effortlessly and without the sticky mess for applying the moss. I love having moss in my stash. Push the moss into place and trim off the moss around the bunny. The frame is bigger so I used the Creative Station with the 5″ cartridge refill running it through face up. Rub the frame…
