Hello everyone! Kerry Engel here today on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog with a super fun crossword puzzle inspired layout that I really enjoyed creating. For my daughter’s birthday, we created a goofy crossword puzzle full of questions that spotlight her at 21. It was fun to listen to everyone trying to guess the answers and find my spelling mistake. (It wouldn’t be a Kerry creation if it didn’t have a spelling mistake.) How to Create a Crossword Puzzle Inspired Layout To build the crossword I used this free website https://www.puzzle-maker.com/CW. I transferred the crossword to a piece of Creative Scrapbooker Super Stock using a sketch pen and my Silhouette Cameo. If you don’t have a cutting system you could easily print the crossword and adhere it to your layout. I used the March 2019 sketchy challenge for layout inspiration.-Be sure to join our monthly challenge. I would love to…

Hello everyone! Kerry Engel here today on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog creating Camouflage with Chameleon Color Tone pens and Art Impressions. I had a lot of fun with the Ole Buck set by Art Impressions this week. The stamp set is comprised of punny sentiments and fun camp accessories. Making a set of masculine cards was a fun creative interruption. I work with several hunters and I’m excited to have some β€œguy” cards in my stash. I created three different cards using a combo of papers from Carta Bella’s Fall Break collection, the Old Buck stamps, and some earthy Chameleon pens. I wanted my men to be wearing some type of camouflage and it was easy to create the look using 3 or 4 different earthy colours. To mimic Camo I scribbled randomly with Chameleon Color Tone pens in Olive, Fawn, Taupe, and Bisque. Here’s how it came together……

Soft pastels and summer vibes. Hello everyone, Kerry Engel here today on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog. The Creative MemoriesΒ Blend and Bloom collection includes patterned paper, embellishments, and stickers that can be layered to create subtle, soft,”Β summery” pages. My Kuaui photos in this layout have a soft, over exposed finish and they softly whispered β€œBlend and Bloom”. I combined both the blue and green paper packages and was inspired by the February sketchy challenge. I just adore the laser cut leaves. You can use either side of the leaf-they are slightly different colors. Both colors combine perfectly and mimics the subtle shades of a summer garden. There are several different leaf shapes that look great as a single focal point or combined to create a garden or bouquet. I crunched up the bottom right corner of my paper so I could tuck in a leaf vine. Keeping items close together…

I love a good collection and Simple Stories never disappoints. Their new β€œMerry & Bright” Collection has an abundance of yummy pieces: chipboard, stickers, frames, tags, wash tape and paper. Everything coordinates making layering and and creating embellishment clusters a dream.Β This layout is actually a large β€œZ”. If you squint you can see it. I was inspired by an advertisement I saw in a magazine.Β The page is comprised of three embellishment clusters built on three cardstock circles to create a colorful photo stack. I used an assortment of the β€œBits & Pieces”, Chipboard Stickers, card-stock stickers and washi tape to create three photo-stacks.Β  Along the bottom, I decorated a card-stock border sticker with little words. Then I mounted the vintage car on a couple of Pop-Up Dotsβ„’ by Glue Dots to give it some height. Layering these elements creates interest, depth and a bit of whimsy.Β  It looks like my…

I have completelyΒ fallen in love with Kerry Engel’sΒ martini greeting card! How fun is this beautiful little creation. I can think of a few girlfriendsΒ who would get a real giggle out of receiving thisΒ card.Β To create the background Kerry followed these basic steps 1. On a piece of Creative Scrapbooker Super Stock, blend Ranger Tim Holtz Distress Oxide inks. 2. Spritz with water and watch the oxide effect. 3. Gently pat a Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L Adhesive sheet onto the base – only part of the adhesive will sit down. 4. Sprinkle with Ranger embossing powder and heat set! HelloΒ everyone Kerry Engel here today on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog with a simple Happy Birthday layout featuring products by MultiCraft and Chameleon Pens. I was immediately drawn to Multicraft’s Art Therapy Stickers. They are massive stickers that you can color, how fun is that?Β  They offer so many possibilities.Β  The package comes with large stickers and labels that can be combined to create a graphic, whimsical layout.Β I could have colored the entire sticker, (they are smooth and they love Chameleon Pens), but I opted to leave it in black and white and just color one label.I adhered the label sticker to some cardstock to give it some strength.Β  After I colored it with my Chameleon Pens I mounted it on foam squares to give some dimension to the layout.Β The large Art Therapy stickers have a sentiment in the middle. Using an exact-o knife I cut around the inside of…
