It’s that time of year again — time for my annual trip to IKEA to get dorm appropriate stuff for β€œthe kid”….Β  And, if I’m perfectly honest, it becomes more in an inspiration station for me! Wondering around the store I came across a little bin with some paper frames shaped as buildings in them.Β Β  The GLON set was meant to be coloured with markers…  but I had other plans for them!!Β  …and I dug out β€œthe kid’s” grade 12 picture to show you! Happy first day of Fall!Β  Nicole here from Nicole Wright Designs and I’m excited to share my most favorite time of year… Fall! I just got all my Sizzix dies to play with and I went for the Dashing Deer first knowing I was somehow going to create a fall project. Β Well I usually have some idea of what I may create. Β This one needed lots of leaves and burlap. Onto the fun! I decided to layer up the antlers with the mat board cut 2 times and a layer of SizzixΒ Leather Paper. Β I cut the head and upper body with some scrap Core paper. Β For the leaves I made my own paper using watercolor paper. I grabbed my Ranger Distress Spray Stains peeled paint, carved pumpkin and fossilized amber. Β Spritz and spray.Β  Apply matching distress inks to intensify the colour. Now that the paper is dry I can cut…

Superhero Shirt Tutorial Hey crafters, Nicole here and I’m back to share these awesome shirts I made for the Great Canadian Scrapbook Carnival in Calgary this coming weekend.Β  The theme is Super Hero’s!Β  I have been humming and hawing about this for months!Β  I didn’t want a costume and I didn’t want to spend a fortune on shirts I knew I wouldn’t wear again.Β  So I made my own… for $10 in supplies! Lets create stencils using you’re die cuts, paints and a little imagination! Step one buy some shirts and wash them.Β  I grabbed mine at Michaels, $3 each.Β  I picked up this sticky back roll of vinyl stuff at the dollar store, 7ft for $3.Β  One Cricut machine for cutting out letters and speech bubbles. I needed to create a stencil so I removed the images and cut carefully cut the images out with an X-Acto knife.Β  Carefully…

Hello everyone! Jayme Loge here today! For my day job, I work in a school as an education assistant. In previous years, my assignment has been to provide literacy support to several classes. This meant working with several teachers and a rotating group of kids. Due to student needs, my assignment this past year has been in one classroom. It was a wonderful experience to work closely with one teacher and student group. I decided to get the kids together to work on a special end of the year gift for the teacher. They ended up creating this wonderful canvas! Supplies Used: Canvas- Michaels 16×20 Stencils- Donna Downey (Keyhole Splatter, Bubbles, Halftone Dots); Tim Holtz (Speckles, Lace) Paint- Ranger Dylusions Stamps- Frog’s Whiskers Ink Ink- Clearsnap We worked for weeks in a secret location, kids giving up their recess time in turn so everyone got a chance to contribute. The…

Hello, Connie Nichol here today with a layout featuring Momenta cardstock and Art-C texture cream. Β My youngest played team handball at school this past year and I wanted to scrapbook the photographs the school took of the team. I started with a piece of Creative Scrapbooker Super Stock and applied Art-C silver texture cream through an Art-C plastic stencil on both sides of the page. Don’t be shy, just smear that texture cream with a palette knife or an old credit card generously through the stencil. Β It’s easy to do and just adds such a neat touchable texture to your page. Let dry. Β It doesn’t take long. Β I then took a couple of pieces of Momenta cardstock and layered them in the middle of the page. Β If you have not used this brand of cardstock, you need to go check it out. Β It’s heavy and beautifully textured and a pleasure…

Crazy Cats can Dream too! Nicole here share this funny little card and an easy tutorial for a background.Β  This card is inspired by my crazy cat.Β  She ate my stamps…yep you saw that right.Β  She ate my Upstream stamps. I hauled out my Upstream stamps and Crazy Cats stamps and Sizzix Crazy Cat dies.Β  I cut Dream with the Alphanumeric die on Sizzix leather paper.Β  I stamped this crazy cat onto watercolor paper inked with Ranger Β Archival Jet Black. I used Ranger Ink Distress Markers hickory smoke, carved pumpkin, twisted pumpkin and vintage photo to create my tabby crazy cat.Β  Just like Miss Flurry… the stamp eating cat.Β  I just got the Sizzix Crazy Cat dies so it was so great to not fussy cut. Now that the Crazy Cat is quickly cut I can start the background.Β  I used my Ranger Distress Ink to ink up my Upstream…
