Anyone up for a bright summery project today?ย  Hello friends Nicole Wright here today sharing a detailed tutorial on this Painted Burlap Canvas.ย  You may have seen this in the current issue of the magazine.ย  I thought I would share a more detailed tutorial using Dylusions Paints.ย  These bright acrylic paints add a bold look to any project. Apply Rangerโ€™s Dylusions Paint directly to Super Stock Card Stock using a sponge covering your paper.ย  I used a baby whip to smear around the Dylusions Paint.ย  Blot some Tangerine Dream randomly.ย  Then layer your stencil and using a sponge add Dylusions Paint Fresh Lime.ย  Repeat this using random colours and stencils for your all your floral die cuts.ย Yes, you can ink on Burlap with Dylusions Paints.ย  Add random colours of Dylusions Paints using a sponge.ย  Layer any stencil you want and use your sponge to ink through your stencil.ย  Move your…

Nicole Wright here today celebrating Canada’s 151st birthday!ย  I love Canada even more since today is also my husbandโ€™s birthday.ย  I always make sure he has a โ€œCANADA DAYโ€ theme card.ย  This year his card is extra special.ย  The paper used for the Maple Leaf and side red banners are 116 year old paper from his grandfatherโ€™s old book.ย  Itโ€™s ok, I have permission. I will be filming the HOW TO for this card with Creative Scrapbooker Magazine in a few daysโ€ฆ while I am on vacation.ย  For now, check out this inspiration and get ready for this quick video. 1. I cut the Sizzix die cut Layered Leaf with the book page paper to create a Maple Leaf.ย ย ย  The side banners are cut with the same book page.ย  Each book page is inked with Rangerโ€™s Distress Spray Ink Candied Apple.ย  To get that intensity I sprayed 2 times, drying…

Each and every week, we look back in time and remember the beautiful art of our late friend and colleague Christy Riopel. Christy’s designs are timeless. So many of her creations from way back when continue to inspire us today. This week we are looking back to the Fall 2016 issue of Creative Scrapbooker Magazine.ย  Christy wrote a two-partย feature article on using a variety of different types of mediums. The article was appropriately called Mad for Mediums as Christy rarely created a project without adding some kind of ooeyย gooey goodness! Here is one of the many projects that Christy designed featuring gesso. Gesso Resist Because gesso is a sealant, mediums will react differently on top of it then they will on paper. You can use this to your advantage by using it to create a soft resist. I call it a soft resist because it may retain a bit of…

Hey Creative Scrapbooker Fans! Katelyn Grosart back on the blog today to share with you a fun art journal page. Summer has arrived and the inspiration for my project definitely came from all the bright colours that come with summer. The jumping off point for my project was the Small Patterns & Forever & Always collections from Wild Whisper Designs which combined with a variety of mediums and art journal from Ranger Ink, stencils from Stampers Anonymous, a die from Elizabeth Craft Designs and adhesive from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L, I was able to create my fun I Have an Entire Forest Art, Journal Page. Youโ€™ll want to grab a cup of your favourite beverage as I share with you how I created my page. For the background of my art journal pages, I put a base coat of White Gesso from Ranger Ink on the pages. With the gesso…

HI Friends, and welcome to the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine Blog today.ย  Today it is Karan hosting the blog and i have a tag to share with you using products from 49 and Market – CLICK HEREย  One of my most favorite techniques to do on tags is the “smooshing” technique and I did that and created my background here on the tag below. Tags are perfect to attach to gift bags; to a layout, they are just as easy to create as a card and you can have lots of fun creating them.ย ย ย Here are some detail images of the tag: Here are some steps to get you started: 1. Using Canson watercolor paper, cut a piece measuring approximately 3.75 x 6. Banner cut the top.ย  I like to place blue tape on the edges of my tags so that I end up with a clean white edge when I’m done…

Hello! Itโ€™s Jayme Loge here today on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog.ย  I am sharing some cute gift tags I made for some very special people in my life. At the end of May I travel to Canmore Alberta with an incredible group of ladies to run in the Rocky Mountain Soap Womenโ€™s Run. Some of us are athletic and some of us are not (*cough* me* *cough*), but everyone is positive and supportive and even though I have to run up and down mountains, I enjoy the weekend away very much! A couple of years ago, I shared another gift bag and tag I made for these ladies, which you can see here. Ranger and Sizzix I again used the Dylusions sprays from Ranger, but this time I layered transferred images from stencils as a background. The butterflies were made with a die set from Sizzix, that I cut…

Hello! Kim here with a quick layout sharing that was inspired by the Creative Scrapbooker February Sketchy Challenge. I did a very literal take on the sketch; but had so much fun doing it! This silly subject needed bold colours and contrast! Instead of using papers, my back ground was made using Dylusions paint and the Ranger gel plates. I started with piece of Creative Scrapbooker Superstock, this 110lb card-stock can handle the mixed media product! The Ranger gel plates come in four very useable sizes! I took the small rectangle and masked off the area I didnโ€™t want painted. I added my paints, spread with a brayer and made patterns with a Dina Wakey stamp and a Ranger texture tool. My swirls are done with an Art Foamie stamp and white acrylic paint! My bold title and hashtags are done with American Craft Thickers. My journaling was done with…

Hey Creative Scrapbooker Fans! Katelyn Grosart here today on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog. I am excited to be sharing with you a baby themed project. With spring being here, it means that flowers are blooming and babies are arriving. For me, I always find it challenging to create a baby card because it’s one of those types of cards that you don’t need often. So, by using the adorable Oh Baby! line from Simple Stories, a variety of chipboard pieces from Southern Ridge Trading Company, Embossing Powder from Emerald Creek Craft Supplies, Ink from Ranger Ink, adhesive from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L and Super Stock Cardstock from Creative Scrapbooker Magazine, I was able to create this cute Welcome Home Little One Card. Youโ€™ll want to grab a cup of your favourite spring beverage as I share with you how to recreate my Welcome Home Little One Card at home.…

Hello and welcome back crafty friends! Tracy McLennon here, and today I have a little liquid gold inspired layout to share with you. My layout is inspired by my husband’s love for craft beer. I don’t like beer myself, but what I do enjoy is exploring these fabulous local businesses and the art and design that goes into their craft. As soon as I set eyes on these fabulous stamps from Stampers Anonymous Tim Holtz Collection….I knew I had to have them for just this reason. Even just as the stamp alone, don’t they look fabulous?I created my layered background and then did a few simple mixed media steps in order to frame the area where my matted photo would be. A little blending and splattering, and let dry. Then I stamped the beer mug and beer bottle onto the layout itself in black ink. This ends up simply as a…
