Hello Friday and hello to Christine Beaudry of North Bay, Ontario! Her creative space will be the first we share in 2018 for our WHERE YOU CREATE feature. A BUSY START TO OUR YEAR Our blog and team has been busy with Christmas give-aways, Boxing Day give-aways and our HUGE Creativation give-away. It always amazes me how quickly the months go by on our Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog! As are thoughts lean towards all things spring, despite winter still showing us who’s in charge, Christine’s scrapbooking room will have you thing Springtime in Paris. We love her clean, bright and organized space. FROM CHRISTINE Hi Kim, Here is the space where I create! I dream of going to Paris one day, so the decor is Paris themed. I love organizing my supplies, mostly in the open, so I can see what I have and be inspired by a certain element…
Brrrrrr! January 2108 has arrived! We are in a deep freeze once again here in Alberta; however, weather has been crazy all over! Storm “bombs” to the east, freezing rain and mudslides in California! Mother Nature always lets us know who really is in control! FILL MY IN-BOX! On the bright side, our days are slowly getting brighter in the Northern hemisphere, which means more light each day, which means more available light for picture taking! We are getting ready to resume our 2018 WHERE YOU CREATE blog posts and I need you to FILL my in-box with your photos and write-ups about your creative spaces! Send your emails to me at: kim@creativescrapbooker.ca WHY SHARE? Last year we had a wonderful array of spaces to share! Each and every one offered ideas to decorate and organize our spaces. From big to small, your spaces ROCK! As Creative Scrapbookers it is important to…
Kim here today with a twist on our WHERE YOU CREATE feature. It’s time to get organized on the move! Let’s go to a retreat! I tried desperately to post this feature last weekend while at a retreat; but alas I failed! The wifi at our retreat was at best unreliable and well honestly, my brain was squirrelling every minute into conversations and laughs with the wonderful group of people I was spending my time with! Trust me…there are way worse evils in the world than what was my dilemma! BIG PHOTO SHARE So today, we will have a big photo share. A share of how “my peeps” pack and lug all of their scrapbooking supplies to a retreat. THIS is real life! Some are very organized, some are very random and some…well, bring everything but the kitchen sink! I “hang” with some incredibly talented people, so I figure if…
Here we are…the last Friday of November, and possibly our last WHERE YOU CREATE for 2017! As the days get shorter, our lives seem to get busier! Every year at this time our submissions for Where You Create dwindle and then they pick up again in the New Year. It coincides with busy times for us too…we are already gearing up for our annual 12 Days of Giving starting December 12t [so much fun!] and CHA is in January where so many new and marvelous products will be revealed; we just can’t wait! We promise to keep you entertained with lots of fun blog posts until we revisit WHERE YOU CREATE in 2018! RIBBON STORAGE IDEA Last week I received a short email from Nancy Nickel of The Nickel Nook. She shared a photo of a wonderful ribbon storage idea that she thought would be fun to share with our…
This week I was able to find a bit of time to “play” in my craft room. It really is a space in my home that makes me happy. Sometimes after a busy day, I’ll just go in, sit and shuffle through my supplies. I can feel the stress of the day slowly melt away, the shuffling, touching and doodling have become an important part of my creative process. For most of my adult life, I have been fortunate enough to have a corner or room dedicated to crafting. This week Susan Sturgis is letting us peek into her craft room. I can only imagine her delight at having a dedicated scrapbooking space after raising eight [8!] children! An extra room! For the first time in my married life, I have an extra room. I am the mother of eight, wonderful children who have occupied all the bedrooms until April…
Well! I’m just a bit dumbfounded today! Next week trick or treaters will be knocking at my door and then in a flash…we’ll turn our calendars to November! That means we are just over two months until 2018…which means I did not put to use all the great organizing ideas from a year’s worth of WHERE YOU CREATE blog posts! How does that happen!? Of all my years on this wonderful earth…I swear 2017 has flown by the fastest! That being said, we will forge ahead sharing more creative spaces and organizing ideas. When you are ready to put some of these great ideas to work, you just need to find your way back to our blog, all of our WHERE YOU CREATE blogs posts are easy found…at the click of your mouse! This week’s creative space Today we get to see where Steph Kallinen scrapbooks! In Steph’s email to…
Welcome to another WHERE YOU CREATE post. If you are a fan of Tim Holtz, Ranger or Sizzix I know you will love the craft space we are about to share. Even if your creative style differs, we are confident you too will swoon over Nicole Wright’s scrapbooking room. Her craft room is not big…but WOWSERS, it packs a punch! In Nicole’s Words I have a very small but mighty craft space. This 8×12 room is designed to maximize space and functionality with storage on walls. I create on an 80+ year old oak desk belonging to my husband’s grandfather. Everything is designed around this vintage centrepiece. Wire baskets hold my stamps and apple crate boxes house my extensive Sizzix library. IKEA wire shelves are perfect for all my Ranger inky things. Glass jars are full of seasonal embellishments, twine and paper dolls. Floating shelves show off my favorite pieces I…
…so here we are again, ready to visit another creative space, the last Where You Create of September! I feel we just rolled into this month and here we are ready to flip the calendar page again! Does anyone else feel this year is simply zipping along too fast? As I continue to share beautiful scrapbooking rooms, I need to spend a bit more time organizing my own space…it’s the never-ending dilemma of “not enough hours in the day”! Today we are re-visiting Sandra Dower’s creative space! We shared Sandra’s scrapbooking room back in August of 2014, I LOVE that she has sent some more pictures of a smaller space as she transitions to a new larger craft room. Sandra says: “I love seeing everyone’s scrapbook rooms! So many great ideas. I had my room on Where You Create August 15, 2014 Since then I have moved to a smaller…
Has anyone else felt a change to the air? My toes have been chilly in the mornings and warm in the afternoons [except today! …they are still cold!] September makes me want to organize my world again, add a bit of routine back to my life and get ready to “hunker” in for the colder months ahead. I must say, I am looking forward to a bit more time in my craft room! I have been sorting through my stash a bit, getting layout plans in my head and thinking about how to organize my stuff. This seems to be an ever-evolving system…two steps forward and one back! Who really knows? After seeing so many wonderful craft rooms, I have to say that organization is NOT a one size fits all system! But from each submission we receive and share for WHERE YOU CREATE we get ideas we never thought…
Creative spaces and the 1st of September! Hope everyone is gearing up for a wonderful long week-end, it’s like the last hoorah before we get back into routine again. My son is no longer in school, but I must admit September routines are like resolutions in January…the are deeply engrained! I look forward to spending more time in my creative space as the weather cools. We’ll keep our intro short today as Alyson Mayo has a great photo share for us…here we go! Let’s take a peek… I have been told several times that I have a very interesting (and organized) creative space. I actually deal with diagnosed OCD and it manifests itself in the form of perfectionism so I can’t stand disorganization. I also love the colour turquoise so that was a huge factor when choosing elements for my space.I am fortunate to have a large room in my…
