Hello everyone! Kim here, sharing a few of my favourite supplies! This was originally going to be a share of my take on the March Sketchy Challenge, a fantastic story line design with spots for lots of pictures! As you will soon seeβ¦I failed the sketch but love my finished layout! That is the joy of a sketch though, it can be a literal design to followβ¦or simply a starting place for your creative mind! So, I have this little obsession lately with all things Wild Whisper Design. Each and every one of their collections to date pulls me inβ¦hook, line and sinker! I love the colours, the images, the quality and I admit to having a little Canadian pride for this small company! For my layout, I used their recent collection, Wild Whimsy! It was perfect for my sea turtle pictures and the mermaid, though so trendy right now,…
Happy Tuesday everyone! Is the sun shining in your neck of the woods and possibly sending a spring vibe to your world? Itβs Kim here with a Tuesday With the Team layout share! My layout is NOT very springy but since we are officially still in winter, here I go! I used our January Sketchy Challenge as a starting point for my layout. Rotating it to the left seemed to work best for me. I was thrilled to pull out my Carta Bella βCabin Feverβ collection!Β From the first time I set my eyes on this collection I LOVED IT. It definitely gives off a cozy, winter vibe and was perfect for the photos I wanted to share. This collection has the sweetest accent elements in chipboard, stickers and journal cards [12×12 sheet].I love how my completed layout came together so quickly with this sketch a paper collection. Donβt be…
Hello! Kim here with a quick share, my layout based on our December Sketchy Challenge!Β Those who go to retreats with me know that I CANNOT focus and get things done. I chat too much, canβt find what I need and βsquirrelβ around seeing what everyone else is doing! In the moment, I hate that I canβt scrapbook while retreating, but I come home so inspiredβ¦itβs just what I need to unwind and get the creative juices flowing! My friend Kerry gave me the creative task of working with the negative space of her cut-out for a project. Based on the shapeβ¦Iβm sure it was for her sketch inspired layout as well! MY FAVOURITE RANGER PRODUCTS I taped it onto my blank, bright-white Creative Scrapbooker Magazineβs Superstock and started playing with my Ranger Distress Oxide inks! It was the perfect task for my squirrelling brainβ¦no real thought required, just swirling ink…
HAPPY NEW YEAR Hello and Happy New Year! Kim here for a Tuesday with the Team post! First and foremost, how luck am I to work with such an amazing group of creative souls. I sometimes have to pinch myself! My project today is actually one I worked on in November but did not get a chance to share. In December, my focus quickly went to cards, gift buying and a trip to Mexico. Now itβs time to get back into a creative routine and practice! SIMPLE SCRAPBOOKING LAYOUT This simple layout was created using products from Paper House Productions and Tombow. PRODUCT LOVE My layout background was created with two sheets of patterned paper from the Delish 12β Paper Pad covered with the acetate bird sheet. The title and embellishments were cut from papers of the same collection, they add the slightest bit of colour to an otherwise pretty…
Hello! Kim here with a quick share of my take on last monthβs Sketchy Challenge! Kerry designed this neat sketch for October, try as I didβ¦I wasnβt feeling the βangleβ for the photos I wanted to work with. SWITCH IT UP Instead, I worked with elements of the sketch! I moved, shuffled, altered my papers and pictures until I was happyβ¦sometimes itβs a LONG process! I must say I was quite happy with the finished results. PRODUCT LOVE! Simple Stories’ βVintage Blessingsβ collection was such an awesome choice for the photos I was working with. The soft, muted colors of the papers, embellishments and quotes were perfect for the old family photos I was scrapbooking!Β Die βhard story tellers, need not fear! After I took the photo of my layout, I did go back and use my Stabilo pens to document the names of those in the photos! I needed…
Hello everyone, Kerry Engel here on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog with some autumn inspiration for you from BoBunny and the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine October Sketchy Challenge. This monthβs sketch gives you room to tell a great photo story; it has room for four photos! The off-kilt design shakes things up a bit, creating some fun energy. I love summer colours but it was so fun to play with the rusty burgundies in this BoBunny Dreams of Autumn collection, they are so rich and yummy: almost makes me excited that fall is here. Pretty much every fall photo I have looks great with this line. One of the cool features in this collection is the page with all the single elements. I fussy cut out several of the leaves and then got messy. The results were some realistic 3D embellishments.Β After I cut out the leaves I sprayed them with water and…
Kim here today to share my take on the March Sketchy Challenge. This fun sketch was designed by the talented Kerry Engel; who shared several takes of this sketch in our Sketchy Gallery. I choose to work with this sketch while on retreat a few weeks back. I am not a productive scrapbooker at retreats because I socialize and enjoy the company around me, I find it hard to create with so much going on but wouldnβt miss them for the worldβ¦retreats are just plain good for the soul! I used paper and die-cuts from Kaisercraftβs βMe Collectionβ. It was the perfect retreat paperβ¦I grabbed 3 Chameleons pens and randomly coloured some of the doodles on the pageβ¦all while keeping up with the stories going on around me! I grabbed my Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L tape runner to put everything in place! My title is made from older Tim Holtz…
