Stampin’ Up!

Are you someone that makes all the Halloween treat bags? Perhaps you are the co-worker that brings treats for the adults in your office or the awesome mom that brings the coolest treats for all the Brownies? Sometimes I am and sometimes I am not. It always depends on how much time I have. This year Stampin’ Up! is making it pretty easy for me (and you) to bang out several of these treats in plenty of time before Halloween. Check out these coffin boxes by Stampin’ Up! I mean… how fun are these? To create my Halloween coffins, I had limited product to use. Using elements from the Monster Bash Designer Series Paper for the inside and outside of the coffin, I was able to make the coffins come to life. However, once the treats are inside the box you need to hold the coffin together with some trims…

Stitched Stars Framelites by Stampin’ Up! Make me HAPPY!  I am so happy to be here each month – I hope you are having a fabulous summer! I am obsessed. Simply obsessed. September 1st marks the release of the Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalogue. And yup. You guessed it, I am obsessed. I cannot wait to show you everything that we have in store. Today’s project is a scrapbook page largely created using products from the Brightly Gleaming Product Suite. Prepare to be wowed. While the Brightly Gleaming Foiled Stars and Designer Series Paper are gorgeous, the new Stitched Stars Framelits are the star of the show. You can’t quite see here but when you cut them out, you can use the inner star as I have here OR the outside border as it’s also stitched. Check it out here: To further create interest, I decided to use these stitched star…

Happy Summer everyone, Cathy Caines here today playing with the Wildly Happy Cling stamp set by Stampin’ Up! It seems that I have some news to share! My family and I are so excited to announce to the world that we are growing our family with baby number three coming soon in January! With baby on my mind, I thought it would be nice to create a project with one of my favourite stamp sets in the Stampin’ Up! 2019-20 Annual Catalogue called the Wildly Happy Cling Stamp.  I always love stamp sets where I can make “sets” of cards. With four images and plenty of sentiments, this stamp set can help you create four cards. Typically, when I create card sets, I tend to stay true to a similar design. In this project, I created two styles with two cards each.  For both sets, I layered the images on…

Hello everyone! Cathy Caines here today on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog playing with the Come Sail Away With Me collection by Stampin’ Up! I am so happy to be back here this month showing you what I love from Stampin’ Up! For the past couple months, I have been busy creating memories rather than documenting them. I’ve been adventuring from one coast to another and it’s time now for me to begin getting these stories told. Today, I was inspired by the Come Sail Away With Me Memories and More cards (Click Here) and corresponding Designer Series Paper. (CLICK HERE) It didn’t take long for me to capture the memories of me hiking to see the Heceta Lighthouse on the West Coast. “I don’t know why I didn’t ask any of the other ladies to join me but off I went to the Oregon Coastline to see the Pacific…

Hello everyone! Cathy Caines here today on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog saying HELLO to the NEW Magnolia Lane collection by Stampin’ Up! It’s the most exciting time of year for Stampin’ Up! demonstrators worldwide. Tomorrow, June 4th marks the release of the new 2019-2020 annual catalogue. While many of the products are not available until tomorrow, I am able to show you the Magnolia Lane Product Suite. I am in love with florals lately and so this product suite really spoke to me. Ironically I have been working hard to complete my 2016 scrapbook album and this photo of my daughter in the sunset was perfect for this suite. Since the pattern of this Magnolia Lane Designer Series Paper is quite busy, I layered the new colored vellum by Stampin’ Up! behind the photo. This helped move the focus of this scrapbook page from the flowers to the photo.…

Happy Monday, my crafty friends! Cathy Caines here today on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog with some fun ways to say Thank You, Teachers! It doesn’t take long for the days to turn to weeks and the weeks to turn to months. In the Caines household, we are planning our summer schedules with mini vacations and day camps. Already I am thinking ahead to teacher and music thank you gifts. Music is ending within the next couple weeks so I was thinking I might as well create the teacher gifts at the same time. I learned a little while ago that gift cards are just as good a gift as anything else but I wanted to add a little special touch to personalize them instead of just toss a card at them. Beginning with the Stampin’ Up! mini pizza boxes sizing at 3.5” squared and armed with the Label Me…

Goodbye March. Hello April. The snow is starting to melt in Canada and soon you’ll see families thinking about hikes, bikes and well, fishing! The Best Catch Bundle from Stampin’ Up! caught my eye from day one of the Stampin’ Up! Occasions catalogue release. I absolutely adore the little images and the sentiments geared toward Dad. My first project began with stamping multiple images on watercolor paper. I heat embossed the image with clear heat embossing powder. This gives a big enough ridge around the image to help segregate colours when water colouring. I used Stampin’ Up! refill ink with an aqua painter to colour the images. I love the effect of multiple stamped images and also sentiments. Being that the card has a fishing theme, the water colour wash backgrounds suits the stamped images perfectly. To create the wash, simply use some refill ink or a Stampin’ Up! Marker…

Like most vacation days, we took a lot of pictures that day. So many memories crammed into one afternoon. The island was so beautiful, how could we not? But when I go back and look at all the beautiful photos, I feel overwhelmed. These are the photos that I never want to scrapbook. It’s a daunting task. But I figured it out. At least, what works for me. Maybe it will work for you too. I choose ONE photo that I love and print it in oversize. I write some journaling about the whole day in Microsoft Word or Adobe Photoshop. What I am saying is ‘just write’. Write it all down. All in one swoop. In this project, I did the journaling right on the page. But other times I’ll put in on a pocket journal card or if it’s too long, it will be its own insert. Now…

Life is tough sometimes. For those going through hardships, we often don’t know what to say or do. Usually, we can’t do very much besides be there and listen. For those times, a card can be a great way to show love and support. Sympathy cards are never fun to make. I really believe Stampin’ Up! has done a great job finding the words we all want to say in the Beautiful Promenade stamp set. The Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper is photographic paper. It’s perfect to create cards quickly. For this particular card, I was going for a vintage floral feel. I distressed the edges of the cardstock first with the open edge of my scissors and then matched the ink with the cardstock sponging over the edges. “Houston, we have a problem” – I accidentally ripped the top of the card while I was distressing and instead of…
