“Be Your Own Kind of Beautiful.” Yes, please! Hello everyone, Cathy Caines here today on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog. When I saw this sentiment in the Stampin’ Up! Artfully Folded stamp set, I knew I wanted to include it in today’s project. Lately, it seems like that is an anthem in my little world. You want to have blue hair? Sure. Hello everyone, Cathy Caines here today on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog. We must celebrate! Indeed we do! We have many things to celebrate including the carry over of the Celebrate You Thinlet Dies into the 2018-2019 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog. Since it’s introduction in the Sale-a-Bration catalog, I have made too many projects to count with these thinlet dies. When I heard they would carry over I was over the moon!Today’s projects were created combining the Celebrate You Thinlet Dies as well as the sans serif sentiments of the We Must Celebrate Stamp Set from the Stampin’ Up! Occasions Catalog. I love mixing and matching different stamps and dies.To create the above card, you must first make the multi-colored background. With your Aqua Painter, dip each colour into the refill ink one by one resulting in a multi-colored wash. I would recommend drying each colour with a Heat Tool…

Garden Girl Stamp Set by Stampin’ Up!

She’s a Garden Girl. Oh my, yes she is. And I am oh, so very ready for Spring.Instead of focusing on the Garden Girl herself, I thought I would create a couple projects with the cute little flower bed and the sweet bird. Those little things are the exact signs of Spring I am waiting for here on the East Coast of Canada. To start these cards, I began by stamping the images on water colour paper. They were then coloured using Stampin’ Write Markers and a water brush or aqua painter. Of course, I am silly enough to hand cut out the images.Did you know that Stampin’ Up! carries embossing paste in several colours as well as a variety of stencils? Every year Stampin’ Up! has a promotion during the months of January through March called Sale-a-Bration. Sale-a-Bration gives a chance to customers to receive exclusive products with every $60 qualifying order. Party Pandas just so happens to be one of my favourite exclusive items from this year’s promotion. You’ve got less than one month to try to snag these perfect little Party Pandas stamp set. Both of today’s projects begins with a small piece of watercolour paper. Using an aqua painter or water brush, I did a background wash with Calypso Coral refill ink. You can also create a watercolour wash using ink pads, markers and paint. While the ink dried on it’s own, I stamped several of the Party Pandas on Thick Whisper White cardstock using Stampin’ Up!’s Black Archival Ink and coloured them with Stampin’ Up! Valentines Day is just around the corner and with two school aged young kids, we are in full swing. While many people aren’t fans of this special day, I am a true believer that any day that puts love and kindness at the forefront is a day worth having. For my family, it’s not focused on a romantic love but instead love to anyone and anything you care about. We make heart shaped pancakes with pink tinted milk, we wear pink or red clothing often speckled with hearts, and we make heart shaped cookies and pizza together for supper. We try to buy board games for the kids so that we can play together but I’ll be honest… the last few board games went quite literally topsy turvy when Mr. Jack Caines slid down the longest snake in the Snakes and Ladders game.
