This saturday we are going way back to the Fall of 2012 – Christy Riopel’s Tool Junkie article featuring the Stampin’ Up! Simply Scored scoring tool. Here is one of the layouts she designed that I love and a little tutorial from the article itself. Hello everyone – Cathy Caines here I think by playing with ice cream and popsicle stamps, I can convince myself that it’s Summer outside my froze bitten window. Oh yes, the calendar tells me it’s Spring and that silly Shuebenacadie Sam groundhog supposedly saw his shadow but it couldn’t be farther from the truth on the East Coast of Canada. Perhaps it’s time for that guy to get some glasses. I spent a great deal of time stamping different colour combinations and putting together a number of die cuts using the Cool Treats stamp and die cuts. It’s the way I roll. It wasn’t until I truly thought about my favourite ice cream that I found the perfect fit. Mint Chocolate Chip! Custom Die Cuts for Scrapbooking with Stampin’ Up!

Today on our blog, Cathy Caines shares her tips and techniques for creating 8.5″ x 11″ scrapbook pages. ‘I had been waiting for this. This was the part of the road trip on my old stomping grounds in Wolfville, Nova Scotia. We had pitas and marched down the main road to check out Jane’s thrift shop. Before we left, I took a moment to take in the view. The old mail box in the tall grass with the mud flats in the back ground. It’s funny how nostalgia works. I miss this place. Hi, Tracy here! Today I wanted to share a quick and easy card idea using Stampin’ Up! Stamps, Ranger Archival Ink, Chameleon Pens and Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L. Project Recipe: Stampin’ Up! – Falling Flowers Stamp Set- Flourishing Phrases Stamp Set (Sentiment) – Cardstock- white and black Ranger- Tim Holtz Distress Archival Ink- Soot Black – Stickles- Yellow Chameleon Pens – YO3, YG3, RD4, BG4, PR4 Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L- EZ Runner Grand, Black 3D Foam Squares I started with a piece of white cardstock that was 3.75×5. Using my Ranger Archival ink I stamped the Stampin’ Up! flowers and leaves along the top and bottom of the cardstock. This stamp set is perfect for trying Chameleon markers for the first time. The lines of the images are a little thicker, providing a little more forgiveness when colouring. Once my images were coloured I added my sentiment. I picked nice…

Inspired Cards with Stampin’ Up! and Cathy Caines

Lately I have been feeling un-inspired. I want to be in my craft room but it seems like everything I make, I can’t get quite right. While playing around with the Lift Me Up bundle in the Stampin’ Up! Occasions catalog, I was stamping in black and gold and red… pretty much every colour of the rainbow. And then I finally used silver embossing powder. BAM. That’s all I needed to get the wheels turning. I stamped in silver and then I did some die cuts in silver foil. I was really impressed how the silver foil Up and Away Thinlet die ran through the Big Shot with ease. A Gingerbread House Ornament with Stampin’ Up! & Cathy Caines

I made an ornament. A deliciously cute ornament. The cutest part is that if you look closely, you can see a sweet Christmas tree inside. This ornament was created in the wee hours of the morning like many of my projects while I was “face-timing” with a friend. Although I had the idea of making an ornament using the Stampin’ Up! Home Sweet Home die, she came up with the idea for the mini tree inside. She’s a genius. Note: These brush trees were bought from Target in the USA when I was visiting last month. How I miss Target in Canada. Whenever I cross the border, you can see me filling up my bags with crates, twine, wire baskets, etc. Let us now bow our heads to mourn the loss of Target.
