Welcome back crafty friends, Tracy McLennon here today on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog. I have a fun little Friend Card to share that I created using a fun new stamp set from Art Impressions. Here are all of the details. Project Recipe Art Impressions- Texting BFF’s Stamp Set Kelly Creates- Black Ink and Acrylic Blocks Ranger- Distress Oxide Ink (Spun Sugar, Peacock Feathers) Ranger – Stickles- Diamond Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L- Crafty Foam Tape White, E-Z Runner® Petite Permanent Dots Refillable Dispenser Chameleon Coloured Pencils White Cardstock First I stamped my images onto white cardstock using Black Kelly Creates Ink and Acrylic Blocks. Then using Chameleon Coloured Pencils, I added colour to my stamped images. These pencils are so very easy to shade and mix. I cut down the cardstock to my card front size. I will be sharing how to create a simple mixed media canvas using Clearsnap ColorBox Blends 2 inks along with stamps from Blank Page Muse! Here are the basics steps. Apply Blends 2 Inks to an 8″ x 8″ canvas. Dry. Spatter Canvas with DecoArt Carbon Blank and Titanium White Paint. Dry. Lay Clearsnap ColorBox ZigZag Art Screen on top of prepared canvas; apply DecoArt Titanium White Paint using a stencil brush. Dry. Stamp background images using DecoArt Carbon Black Ink. Dry. Starting with the Summer 2019 issue, the magazine is publishing a new ongoing article called “Planners Gonna Plan”, researched and written by yours truly. Creating Camouflage with Art Impressions and Chameleon Color Tone Pens with Kerry Engel

Hello everyone! Kerry Engel here today on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog creating Camouflage with Chameleon Color Tone pens and Art Impressions. I had a lot of fun with the Ole Buck set by Art Impressions this week. The stamp set is comprised of punny sentiments and fun camp accessories. Making a set of masculine cards was a fun creative interruption. I work with several hunters and I’m excited to have some “guy” cards in my stash. I created three different cards using a combo of papers from Carta Bella’s Fall Break collection, the Old Buck stamps, and some earthy Chameleon pens. I wanted my men to be wearing some type of camouflage and it was easy to create the look using 3 or 4 different earthy colours. To mimic Camo I scribbled randomly with Chameleon Color Tone pens in Olive, Fawn, Taupe, and Bisque. Here’s how it came together……

Hello everyone, Cathie Allan here today on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog playing with Dare 2B Artzy! While demoing and doing make’n takes in the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine booth in Dallas at the Stamp & Scrap Expo I had the absolute pleasure to meet Cindy Sartain, owner of Dare 2B Artzy, stamps, dies & stencils. Their booth was directly across from ours & oh, my goodness …. I fell in love at first sight with her products. Hey crafty friends! Tracy McLennon here, and today I have a fun little card to share featuring some great new products from Ranger’s Simon Hurley create. collection. These stamps are just too freaking cute! I started my card by cutting a piece of Kraft cardstock to 4×5.25 and then stamping the Splinter background stamp onto it using the Woof ink pad. Then using a blending tool and the same ink, I darkened the edges a bit to create a bit of a shadow. I stamped the animals, tree, and trampoline images onto white cardstock using Jet Black Archival Ink. I added colour to the images using Chameleon Color Tone Pens, and then fussy cut them out. Die cut one of the Heartfelt Creations Hand-Stitched Accents frames from white cardstock. The stamped kraft cardstock gets adhered to the white cardstock card base. Then using multiple layers of Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L…

Best Catch from Stampin’ Up! and Cathy Caines

Goodbye March. Hello April. The snow is starting to melt in Canada and soon you’ll see families thinking about hikes, bikes and well, fishing! The Best Catch Bundle from Stampin’ Up! caught my eye from day one of the Stampin’ Up! Occasions catalogue release. I absolutely adore the little images and the sentiments geared toward Dad. My first project began with stamping multiple images on watercolor paper. I heat embossed the image with clear heat embossing powder. This gives a big enough ridge around the image to help segregate colours when water colouring. I used Stampin’ Up! refill ink with an aqua painter to colour the images. I love the effect of multiple stamped images and also sentiments. Being that the card has a fishing theme, the water colour wash backgrounds suits the stamped images perfectly. To create the wash, simply use some refill ink or a Stampin’ Up! Marker…

Sympathy Cards with Cathy Caines

Life is tough sometimes. For those going through hardships, we often don’t know what to say or do. Usually, we can’t do very much besides be there and listen. For those times, a card can be a great way to show love and support. Sympathy cards are never fun to make. I really believe Stampin’ Up! has done a great job finding the words we all want to say in the Beautiful Promenade stamp set. The Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper is photographic paper. It’s perfect to create cards quickly. For this particular card, I was going for a vintage floral feel. I distressed the edges of the cardstock first with the open edge of my scissors and then matched the ink with the cardstock sponging over the edges. “Houston, we have a problem” – I accidentally ripped the top of the card while I was distressing and instead of…

Hello, 2019 and a new year filled with opportunities and new beginnings! January is a month where we naturally think about new goals and what we want to achieve in the coming year. For me, I’d like to slow down in 2019. But what does that mean? I’ve had to think about the ways in which I can make that happen like device-free time, enjoying the outside more often and finding time to read. I love the process of evaluating goals so be sure to make time for yourself to do the same. Stampin’ Up! has a monthly subscription called Paper Pumpkin where you are sent everything you need to create a crafty project. These are great especially when you are going on vacation or the cabin.
