Hello everyone! Happy Tuesday! Kerry Engel here today on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog playing with my Brother ScanNCut electronic cutting machine. Stickers, gotta love ‘em. They are the backbone of contemporary scrapbooking. They really deserve a shout-out for the role they play in helping us to tell our stories in our scrapbooks. Twenty-three years ago when I started scrapbooking it was all about adding stickers to your pages and they still play a pivotal role in my creative expressions. That said, stickers can do more than stick, they can be very versatile. I have a sticker hack for creating next-level stickers. Here’s how I create my own sturdier ‘cardstock’ elements from stickers, to help me to create design clusters that really pop. Deco Foil Flock Transfer Sheets Meets Burlap with Kerry Engel

Hello everyone – Kerry Engel here today on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog. I had an afternoon of happy accidents recently when I was playing with Therm O Web Deco Foil Flock Transfer Sheets. I ended up creating a card and a scrapbook page. I started with my MultiCraft Forever in Time burlap. I wanted to see if I could add the Flock Transfer Sheets to MultiCraft Forever in Time burlap using the Therm O Web Deco Foil Transfer Gel Duo. The Transfer Gel DUO works two ways; you can transfer flocking or foil using heat from a laminator OR pressure from a die-cutting machine. Transfer Gel DUO is a permanent transfer medium that dries clear and remains tacky for easy use. I spread the Transfer Gel DUO through stencils and laid a piece of the Flock Transfer Sheet on top and ran it through my die cut machine. A…

Girlfriends Make the Best Accessories with Kerry Engel

Art Impressions stamps capture real life for so many women. The confident ladies strutting their stuff in the Girlfriends Make the Best Accessories stamp reminds me of me and my friends when we go for lunch. I wanted to make the ladies a bit glitzy so I used the paper piecing technique on their sunglasses and purses. A little glitter goes a long way! I also tried something different for me, I applied Ranger Tim Holtz Oxide inks onto foiled Therm O Web Gina K. Designs Foil-Mates paper. It turned out really well. The inked and foiled background looks like a Vegas night sky. Here’s how I created this look: 1. Stamp the Art Impressions Girlfriend stamp on watercolor paper and fussy-cut the ladies. 2. Hello everyone! It’s Kerry Engel, here today to share with you an adorable card that is just begging to be touched. Between the embossing, stenciling and flocking this card is full of texture-therapy; for the maker and the receiver. Cards for any occasion are my favorite ones to keep in my stash. This cute little die-cut owl could be used on a multitude of occasions and I find his tummy is just the right size to hold a sentiment. My favourite trick when putting together more detailed die cut items is to use 3D Foam Squares under key areas. I used the Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L 3D Foam Squares to raise my owl’s head up and away from his body. Therm O Web Deco Foil Flock Transfer Sheets cut like butter and emboss like a boss.
