Hello, Connie Nichol here with two projects featuring the Sea Breeze collection from Heartfelt Creations.ย  Can’t you smell the salt air right now?ย  I had a lot of fun creating projects with this collection.ย  ย It is perfect for scrapbooking maritime-themed photographs or creating beautiful sea themed cards. Here’s the Sea Breeze paper collection – beautiful colours and graphics and there are several matching stamp and die sets that will complement the paper beautifully. An important part of my projects is scrap cardboard that I covered with white gesso.ย  It reminded me of the texture of the building next to the Cape Forchu lighthouse.ย  Just save a piece of cardboard from your recycling bin (this one has particularly fine corrugations) and cover with a coat of white gesso or acrylic paint.ย  Let dry and use as the base of your card or layout. I built the card using the Heartfelt Creations…

Hi friends! Noreen from OrganizedandCreativeMom.com here with a fun and FREE Cut-File that is perfect to use with the new Magic Awaits collection by Creative Memories! This happy and bright collection is awesome for documenting photos of adventures in theme parks, carnivals and fairs, playgrounds, birthday parties and lots of other adventures. The red, black and yellow color palette make is super versatile for so many occasions! I loved the name of the collection so much that I decided to create a cut-file featuring it. The โ€œMagic Awaitsโ€ title and shadow layer cut-files can be resized and used on layouts, mini-albums or even cards. Iโ€™ve provided both elements in PNG, JPG and SVG format so you can use it with many different electronic cutting machines. You can download the free cut-file in the OCM Shop I envisioned using this cut-file as the title on a layout showing my boys arriving…

Love this layout that Kim Gowdy created for the Winter issue of Creative Scrapbooker Magazine. Kim designed the layout using the Simple Stories Simple Vintage Traveler collection. The journaling was done using a Kelly Creates black Fineliner. Everything was glued together using Glue Dots Permanent Glue Squares. Hi friends! Itโ€™s Noreen from OrganizedandCreativeMom.com here to share a really cool new way to display and showcase your scrapbook pages. If youโ€™re like me, sometimes when you finish a layout you love, you donโ€™t want to put it in an album right away; you want to put it somewhere you can see it and enjoy it! Creative Memories new Wooden Frame Hanger is an awesome way to display your precious pages until youโ€™re ready to tuck them away in your album for safekeeping. The Wooden Frame Hanger is genius in its simplicityโ€ฆjust unscrew the fasteners, slip the edges of your layout in between the two wooden bars and tighten the screws. Then hang it from the decorative gold chain on a nail or hook. (Note that in my photos below, just the top hanger is shown, but it comes with another wooden bar that fastens onto the bottom of…

Hello scrappy friends! Tracy here, and today I have a pretty little layout to share featuring Simple Stories, Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L and an extra-large photo. Here are all of the details. Every once in a while I find a photo that I just love. A beautiful way to showcase photos like these is to print them as 8×12’s. An 8×12 is a full-frame image, the same size ratio as a 4×6. Printing it this size will not only fit perfectly to our 12×12 layouts, but it also won’t crop off any of your image. I used the Simple Stories Spring Farmhouse Collection including patterned paper, chipboard, stickers, and Bits & Pieces. I stuck everything down using Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L Crafty Foam Tape, E-Z Runner Grand, Thin 3D Foam Squares, 3D Foam Squares and Adhesive Dodz. I used any old colour of cardstock at the background, a base for…

MulltiCraft Forever in Time was the starting point for my “Happy Memories” 12X12 scrapbook layout. Who can resist a jar full of flowers? I was feeling a bit playful in my studio and these charmingย  MultiCraft Forever in Time bottles filled with flowers were the inspiration for my whimsical vision. To build my base layer I stamp some Ranger Tim Holtz Distress Oxide ink on a non-porous surface (plastic sheet)ย  then I spray some water on the ink. After you spray the ink with water you pick up the plastic sheet and dab it onto the paper. I dapped one colour at a time. I like the look of tone-on-tone so using the same colour of Ranger Oxide Inks and the MultiCraft Forever in Time floral stamps I stamp a variety of flowers on top of the background. I always like to add in small details and doodles to my…

Hello, Connie Nichol here today with a quick scrapbook layout I put together using Glue Dots adhesives and Wild Whisper patterned paper.ย  My oldest son absolutely loved to read when he was growing up, and so the book-themed ‘Add a Chapter’ patterned paper line was perfect.ย  Wild Whisper is a Canadian company based in Calgary. I just cut strips of the patterned paper and stuck them all together with my Glue Dots adhesives – I used the permanent glue tape to adhere paper to paper, and permanent ultra-thin dots to attach the wood veneer gear shapes.ย  The wood shapes came from the dollar store, and I just painted them with Ranger black gesso to make inexpensive embellishments. I also tucked in an old dictionary page under the patterned paper.ย  If you have old dictionary’s laying around, be sure to check out the upcoming winter issue of Creative Scrapbooker magazine for…

Hello crafty friends! Tracy McLennon here and I’m hoping these beautiful summer months are treating you as well as they are me, in my neck of the woods. Just because it’s summer, doesn’t mean I don’t stop creating. But these days I’m usually crafting on rainy days or later at night. Today I am sharing with you a Heritage Layout featuring Stampers Anonymous. I have been on a kick lately of creating heritage layouts. I just love creating using a vintage colour palette and using heritage family photos that I am lucky enough to have access to. Here are the details. I created a stamped border using all of those stunning vintage Ornate Trims stamps from Stampers Anonymous using Ranger Walnut Stain Distress Ink and brown embossing powder. I love a layout with lots of layers and texture, and this layout is no exception. I double matted my 4×6 photo…

Hi, Connie Nichol here this morning with a couple of projects that recycle sewing patterns.ย  If you’ve seen the Summer Issue of Creative Scrapbooker Magazine, you’ll know I wrote a whole article on this topic.ย  Be sure to grab the magazine if you want a whole bunch of other ideas.ย  ย Among other things, the patterned tissue paper from old sewing patterns makes a great background for cards and scrapbook layouts. Here’s one of the cards I made.ย  Quick and simple and I think a perfect masculine birthday card.ย  Adhere a layer of a recycled sewing pattern to a piece of white cardstock using gel medium.ย  A gel medium is simply a binder without pigment that comes in various thicknesses, sheens, and transparencies.ย  I like the Dina Wakely matte gel medium from Ranger.ย  ย Just use a sponge brush or paint brush to apply gel medium to the base layer of cardstock…
