Happy Friday everyone! Jayme Loge here once again on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine playing with some fun products from Kaisercraft. I have lived in Alberta all of my life. In fact, my people have lived in Alberta for generations. I love traveling all over Canada and the rest of the world, but there is something about the sky here in Alberta that is home to me. I married a man from BC, and so we take frequent trips through the mountains to visit his family. I LOVE the mountains, and my eyes are delighted continually throughout our whole visit, every single time. But I noticed early on that a feeling of peace and contentedness settles over me every time we return home. There is just something about that sky! I take endless pictures of the sky. In storms. At sunrise or sunset. In every season. In the city or across a…
Hello everyone, Jayme Loge here today on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog playing with the Delish collection by Paper House Productions. I work in a school, and so I have fantastic summer holidays. I always make huge lists, and formulate big plans and then, as it happens when there is an abundance of time, the days disappear with the daylight hours. I have long since learned that scrapbooking is one of the casualties of diminishing time and large lists. I mull ideas for pages when I’m weeding in my garden. I plan out photos and supplies I want to use while driving out to the lake. I spend an hour or two in air-conditioned scrapbook stores, adding to my stash. But when it comes down to sitting at my scrapbook table and actually scrapbooking, I can’t get there. I guess I am loathe to sacrifice any hours of sunshine to my…
Hello! It’s Jayme Loge here today on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog. I am sharing some cute gift tags I made for some very special people in my life. At the end of May I travel to Canmore Alberta with an incredible group of ladies to run in the Rocky Mountain Soap Women’s Run. Some of us are athletic and some of us are not (*cough* me* *cough*), but everyone is positive and supportive and even though I have to run up and down mountains, I enjoy the weekend away very much! A couple of years ago, I shared another gift bag and tag I made for these ladies, which you can see here. Ranger and Sizzix I again used the Dylusions sprays from Ranger, but this time I layered transferred images from stencils as a background. The butterflies were made with a die set from Sizzix, that I cut…
Jayme Loge here on this lovely Tuesday in April. I’m going to confess right off the top that spring has never been my favourite season. It’s wet, and windy and muddy and grey. But this year, with our record breaking, never ending winter I am craving spring like never before. Bring on the melt! Bring on the mud! Bring on the drab, dusty landscape! Bring on anything but snow for my eyes to see! As a scrapbooker, I can make these wishes come true. I escaped to my scrapbook area and dug out some favourite spring photos. Although it is too soon yet for gardening, it is one of the rituals that I love about the season. I come from a long line of gardeners, and remember many a spring day planting and hoeing and planning with my extended family. My grandparents had the most astounding gardens and I am…
Hello everyone Jayme Loge here today on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog. I am now the mother of a fourteen-year-old girl. She is feisty and brilliant and amazing and she is going to do wonderful things in this world. She is evolving before my eyes and it is exciting to see her discover her strengths, make mistakes and make choices about whom she is going to be. It’s lovely, and completely unbalancing. Some days she changes faster than I can keep up with and then when I think I can stretch no further, she relaxes and cocoons herself in the safety of home. I take a break from this dance by looking back at old photos and remembering all the little details of who she is and where she has come from. It’s funny the traits that don’t change. Her hands-on approach is one of them. She loved wearing ‘twirly’…

The ‘Be Happy’ paper line from Paper House Productions is filled with beautiful soft colors, bold prints and touches of gold that make for a versatile foundation for all kinds of scrappable memories. I love it when one color pallet has built in flexibility! Yoga Retreat A few years ago, when I had only a few yoga sessions under my belt, my novice self was invited to a yoga retreat in Canmore. I was in way over my head as everyone else had years of experience, but despite feeling overwhelmed all weekend, I had the most marvelous experience. I scrapbooked…

Inspired by Sketches! My life is more hectic than I can keep up with much of the time and I treasure the opportunities I get to be creative and create wonderful capsules for my family’s memories. I love sketches as a great ‘get me started’ tool. Sometimes the result looks a lot like the sketch and sometimes not, but it really does not matter either way! Here are my takes on three of Creative Scrapbooker Magazine’s sketches. March 2017 Supplies Used: BoBunny patterned paper, Southern Ridge Trading Co chipboard, Webster’s Pages letter stickers, Apple Pie memories acrylic arrows. I would like to point out that the arrow labeled ‘not a keeper’ is pointing to the too small fish and not my husband, as someone who saw it in person thought! April 2017Supplies Used: Simple Stories patterned paper, stickers, wood pieces. Frog’s Whiskers Ink stamps (images), Stamper’s Anonymous stamp (quote). May…
Hello Creative Scrapbookers! Have you ever had a layout appear almost by magic? It happened to me! Here’s the details: I created this layout. Supplies used- Patterned paper, glittlered chipboard; Jen Hadfield Stencil: Donna Downey Ink and Embossing Paste: Ranger Chipboard: Southern Ridge Trading Co (painted with InkaGold by Viva Decor) Acrylic Letters: Pink Paislee Stickers: 7 gypsies Acrylic Tiles: Harmonie It was full on Jayme style with lots of mess and a bit of chaos going on! I had ink and discarded paper spread all around me. I proclaimed the layout complete and set about cleaning up my mess. I lifted off the first layer, and to my wondering eyes, a second layout was just laying there amongst the scraps. I love it when scrapendipity is in the air! I glued it together, found a picture and chose a title. I love the way the background paper kind…
Hello Creative Scrapbookers! It’s Jayme here with a rare occurrence. I created a masculine layout. As the mother to a daughter, I don’t get the opportunity very often. I do scrapbook my husband, of course, but he is usually photographed with me or my daughter. Feminine layouts are certainly my comfort zone. Thank goodness for nephews! They add color and they get me out of my scrapbooking box! Here is the result- I hope you like it as much as I did. Supplies used- Patterned paper, stickers: Bella Blvd – Chipboard: Blue Fern Studios – Stencil: Magenta For the final touches I added some Ranger Dylusions paint! I originally thought I would be serious about adding color to the background in an orderly fashion. Then I realized, I am a Jayme, and who am I going to kid with antics like that? Let the messy play begin! So, it was…
