January 18, 2018 5 Comments

Hello! Noreen Smith here from OrganizedandCreativeMom.com, and I’m so excited to be back on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog! Today I’m sharing a heritage layout featuring some brand new Creative Memories products mixed in with a few old favorites! The beautiful new Archiver’s Collection is comprised of a Paper Pack, Laser Cut Embellishments, Laser Cut Borders, a Variety Mat Pack, a linen-like textured Album cover with a photo window and ABC/123 Stickers that look like typewriter keys! While designed as a heritage themed collection, the neutral colour palette makes it versatile enough for any theme, and works perfectly with sepia, black & white and colour photos. Like many of you, I am the keeper of all the family photos – not only for myself, my husband and kids, but also for my parents and all their family photos. I am in the early stages of curating and celebrating their memories…

Sugarplum Collection by Creative Memories

November 16, 2017 No Comments

Hello! Noreen Smith here, and I’m very happy to be on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog today to share some Christmas projects using Creative Memories’ Sugarplum Collection! This sweet collection features a Paper Pack, Stickers, Embellishments, coordinating Vellum Papers, a foiled Album cover and Fast2Fab Pre-printed Album pages! The designs are inspired by holiday candy, décor and classic Christmas icons, as well as whimsical, playful patterns that also make it perfect for birthdays, Winter, babies and more. Some might comment that at first glance the collection doesn’t seem too Christmas-y as it features a lot of pastels. But of you remember that colors like pink and mint green are just tinted versions of the more traditional Christmas colors of red and green, you’ll realize that they really are quite versatile! Since there were some cute candy and gingerbread house icons in the sticker pack, I used the collection to document our…

Double Page Halloween Layout

October 19, 2017 No Comments

Hi everyone Noreen Smith here today. So glad to be on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog today to share a not-so-spooky double page Halloween layout I created with Creative Memories’ Toil and Trouble Collection! It is really the cutest Halloween collection I’ve seen in a long time and I am loving the color scheme – the various oranges paired with the aqua and turquoise are so refreshing, and I really like that there are some versatile floral and geometric patterns that don’t scream Halloween! The collection features a Paper Pack, Stickers, a foiled Album cover and – wait for it – PHOTO-SAFE WASHI TAPE! Yes! Leave it to Creative Memories to make a photo-safe washi tape that we can feel good using on our archival scrapbook pages! I’m also thrilled about the return of an old favorite – the Pumpkins Border Maker Cartridge. If you have the original Pumpkin BMC,…

September 21, 2017 5 Comments

Hello everyone – Noreen Smith here today. I’m so happy to be here on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog to share a layout created with Creative Memories’ new Countryside Comforts collection! This is a HUGE collection of gorgeous double-sided patterned papers, printed vellum, stickers, laser-cut word art embellishments, slide-in cards, pre-designed pages in both 12” x 12” and 8” x 8” sizes and stunning coordinating album covers! The patterns and colors in the collection are rich, muted tones that call to mind cozy fabrics like retro plaid and floral upholstery and homey cross stitch samplers, and I couldn’t wait to use them with some family photos taken last fall. I also wanted to play with some of Creative Memories amazing punches, especially the new Victorian Fence Border Punch.I used two pieces of Beige Cardstock as the base for my double page spread as it provides a warmer, softer background than…

Meet the Bookworm Collection

August 17, 2017 2 Comments

Hi everyone! Noreen Smith here, and I’m so happy to be back on the Creative Scrapbooker blog today sharing a couple of projects made with Creative Memories’ new school-themed Bookworm Collection! A Peek at the Bookworm Collection I’m sure I say this every year, but where has the summer gone? It’s hard to believe that it’s the middle of August and my kids will be starting school in just a couple of weeks! But, I must admit that Back-to-School is one of my favorite times of the year. I love thinking about the possibilities of the year ahead, buying fun new stationary supplies and enjoying the hint of fall leaves in the air. As I’ve been getting ready for the new school year, I just had to stop to reflect on past school years and create a quick layout and teacher gift with CM’s cute new products! For the…

Slice of Summer with Creative Memories

July 20, 2017 No Comments

Hi everyone Noreen Smith once again playing with Creative Memories! Happy to be back on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog today sharing a couple of layouts made with Creative Memories’ new Slice of Summer seasonal products! As soon as I saw the papers, stickers and variety mat pack for this collection I knew it would work for lots of fun summer photos. For the first layout I chose several photos of my family at the beach last year in Osoyoos, British Columbia. The photos are not the best, as the sun was behind my sons as they stood in the lake, but I wanted to use them to remember the lovely, relaxing holiday that we had. I figured that cropping them down would help, so I chose the best photo to leave as the largest (4” x 4”), then trimmed down the supporting photos to 3” x 3”. I matted all…

1 Card – 5 Ways with Noreen Smith

June 15, 2017 1 Comment

Hi everyone – Noreen Smith here today on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog.Do you use sketches in your scrapbooking? They are so versatile and you can use them over and over again, right? Well, you can really do the same thing with a card sketch! At this time of year there are so many occasions that you might be creating cards for, so why not use one sketch as the basic design and change up your supplies to create all of the cards you need quickly and easily? Each month I design a “1-2-3 Card Sketch” that gets its name because it uses just 1 sentiment, 2 paper shapes and 3 embellishments. I create a handout with the sketch and measurements as well as samples of the finished cards, along with a video that demonstrates how quick it can be to create cards using this formula (if you’re interested, you…

Creative Memories Forever Yours – with guest blogger Noreen Smith

April 20, 2017 3 Comments

Hello! I’m happy to be here to share a special layout created with products from the gorgeous new “Forever Yours” Collection by Creative Memories! The collection is designed to help you preserve your wedding memories, but it worked just as beautifully to preserve the memory of a very special woman. My mom passed away recently and she’s been on my mind a lot. I wanted to create a layout to remember her by that featured one of the last photos taken of us before her Alzheimer’s disease became very advanced. I knew that the colors in the photo would work beautifully with the colors in the Forever Yours papers (rich cream, silvery gray, gold, navy and pink) and the coordinating Stickers and Pearl Adhesive Gems from the Embellishment Pack. I also used CM’s lustrous Gold Shimmer Cardstock as a backdrop, and Navy ABC/123 Stickers for my title. I wanted to…

Creative Memories Sorbet Collection and Rectangle Templates – with Guest Blogger Noreen Smith

February 23, 2017 4 Comments

Hi there! I’m excited to be back today to share a layout featuring a couple of new products that were released by Creative Memories this month – the Sorbet Collection and the Rectangle Templates for the Custom Cutting System! The Sorbet Collection is full of delicious colors and patterns, and it also has a bit of a retro feel to it. I dug out a variety of old photos of myself that echoed the colors and had a bit of a vintage look. I knew I would have to tone down the bright, busy pattern of the paper with a solid color to make the photos stand out. But instead of just using the Rectangle CCS Templates to simply matt my photos, I thought I would try my hand at creating a cut-work style overlay with them! First, I traced out the various sizes of rectangles and squares onto a…
