Hi everyone Jodi Wilton here today to share with you a fun, summery layout using one of my favourite summer lines this year by Simple Stories!  I love all the possibilities with this collection from using them for scrapbook pages, pocket pages, mini’s and cards! Here is the layout I created full of summer fun: I love to layer on my layouts and by using the chipboard stickers, bits & pieces, and  enamel dots; a layout can come together super fast and easy! This layout was create in under an hour!  I used Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L Foam Squares to give the embellishments some extra dimension too! One of my favourite products from this collection is the Insta-Squares! They are fun small embellishments that can be used for all different projects.  For my layout, I added them as a fun embellishment! Thanks for letting me share a little bit of my…

Simply Pressed Clay Flowers Featuring Stampin’ Up! by Connie Nichol I have had so much fun with the Simply Pressed Clay and clay molds from Stampin’ Up!   I just love being able to make these flowers and buttons as I need them in a variety of colours to match every project.  Here’s all there is too it: Gather up your supplies – Simply Pressed clay, molds and classic ink re-inkers. The clay is white, soft and very light weight, and a dream to work with. If you don’t want white flowers and buttons, mix in a few drops of reinker.  Of course, the more ink you add, the more intense the colour will be.  I slipped on a disposable glove so that my hands did not get all inky here. Just massage the clay and reinker for a few minutes until it is smoothly mixed. Then press into…

Chalkboard embellishments are all the rage right now and I love Core-dinations ColorCore cardstocks new Chalk Core Paper for making my own embellishments! I used Core’dinations Color Core cardstock, Spellbinders dies, Clearsnap Izinks, Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L, Simple Stories stickers, Prima Marketing flowers, Xyron Sticker Makers and Marvy gel pens. I cut out and embossed several shapes from the Chalk Core paper using my dies. To make it easier to sand the very fine cuts I first ran them through my Xyron sticker maker. Leaving the cut out on the backing I then sanded the embossed die cuts making them look like beautiful fine chalk work!! I then added them to my layout over a layer of Clearsnap Izinks. I added a very old, vintage photo of myself that I recently stumbled upon. Many people ask me what they should do differently with their older photos…my answer is nothing, do…

Hello everyone! Karen Ellis here! I hope you summer has started on the right foot and you are having a fun and fabulous time with the ones you love — a fun, creative time, of course! I love the summer.  I’m sure it’s psychological but I tend to be a little more “relaxed”, find myself noticing the small things and revelling in the simplest of pleasures.  I also tend to be a little more adventurous…   not just the type of adventurous that would find me on the beach in a swimsuit – the creative kind – taking the time to experiment with my supplies and discovering something new about them. That’s what happened recently to me — I played with a product that’s been in my stash for years that I haven’t had the notion to pull out again until now – Ranger’s Alcohol Inks. I was inspired by a post by…

Colour Blocking with Ink Pads – with Cathy Caines Summer has finally arrived on the East Coast of Canada!! Whenever the sun is shining I need to take full advantage so I like quick and simple layouts during the summer months. Typically when I start a scrapbook page, I haul out a 12×12 piece of white cardstock and go from there. Using that as a canvas, I let my imagination take course so that the page and the pictures morph into a piece of art. After playing with mega blocks with my little girl, I thought about how to incorporate it into my scrapbook pages. Using four Stampin’ Up! ink pads, I turned them face down to create a cool background. Arrange them on the paper before opening your ink pads to get your page organized. A quick tip is to first apply a thin layer of gesso on…

Hello everyone!  I hope you are enjoying our beautiful spring weather! On Sunday, we revealed the new sketch for our monthly Sketchy Challenge.  Not familiar with our Sketchy Challenge?  It’s a monthly sketch, designed by yours truly and posted in our online gallery (and on Facebook too – like us HERE!!).  It is an open challenge to all, and while we’d love to see you showcase Canadian products, there is no requirement.  PLUS, if you use our sketch for your project and share it in our gallery, you have a chance to be published in an upcoming issue!  For more details, click on the Helpful Links on the left in our gallery (see here). Here’s the June 2014 sketch: For this sketch, I used a few older photos, taken on Christmas Eve 2000.  I love scrapping older photos – not only do you get to enjoy a favourite hobby, but…

Summer is almost here and that means Sunglasses…. and no one loves them more than my Ashley. I love scrapbooking day to day photos like this. I used:  Simple Stories patterned paper, tags, and stickers, Sizzix stamps, dies and embossing folders, Clearsnap Surfacez inks, and Stephanie Barnard Sprays, Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L. I stamped the Sizzix flags onto a Simple Stories card and used the Sizzix co-ordinating dies to cut them out. I love the versatility of this set. I also used a Sizzix embossing folder on two other cards from the same pack and layered them behind my photo to create texture. I love to get as much as I can out of my supplies, so I cut up the border of the Simple Stories alpha sticker sheet into little square stickers and attached them to the page. Happy Summer –Is-Almost-Here Scrapping! To see more of Christy’s work…

Think Spring! Featuring BoBunny Woodland Winter and Quietfire Design Stamps In my part of Canada, we have plenty of winter, and plenty of snow,  but usually the only time of year when the snow is melty enough to stick together and build a snowman  is spring.  It’s too bad, really, because that also usually means that the snowman will not stick around for long.  The higher sun angle and warmer temperatures during this time of year typically result in his rapid disappearance into a large puddle of icy water. The snowman building process is still fun though, especially if you use delicious cookies for eyes and buttons.  I found a couple of photos from when my boys were little that brought back these memories.  I was inspired to scrapbook them with the April sketch from the Canadian Scrapbooker sketchy challenge and some stunning papers and embellishments from BoBunny.…

Hi everyone! Jodi Wilton here today to share with you a quick card made with FabScraps & Spellbinders!  I put these two together because I thought FabScraps, would be a perfect match for the Spellbinders Shapeabilities- Asian Motifs: I started off by cutting a black cardstock base and adding some FabScraps paper, just inside the base. I sewed around the FabScraps paper for some extra detail. I then used the largest die from the Spellbinders Asian Motif with some FabScraps paper, and layered a square to fit just inside it. (I also sewed around this square for extra detail). Finally the Romantic Travel  Die Cut book is awesome! I used  a luggage tag and added a bit of paper in it and sewed around the luggage tag. I also  got out a FabScraps butterfly Chipboard to add to the card. The next step was to adhere the layers…
