Happy Fall Creative Scrapbookers! Does the change of season excite you? I LOVE it! I just wish winter didn’t follow so quickly! This time of year always gets me thinking about Halloween. I get energized from the decorations, costumes, candy and of course Halloween themed scrapbooking and cardmaking products! My card share started with pulling these Stampers Anonymous sets from my stash ~ I love the both! I pulled out all kinds or Ranger Inks and got started with my plan! I stamped my web image onto a piece of Creative Scrapbooker Superstock and embossed with Speckled Egg Embossing Glaze. This gave me a FABULOUS image to resist the Distress Oxide Inks I would be using to create my background. I added several layers of the grungy stamp to the edges with all the colours from the background and also spritzed with water. Using black Archival Ink, I stamped the…

Happy Tuesday With The Team! It’s Kim here today with a quick share. I look forward to Tuesdays on our blog to see what “my peeps” have been up to when they aren’t busy doing assignments, I’m always inspired! And THAT is just what I want to touch on today. I love that I am able to create and share for Creative Scrapbooker, and am thrilled if one of my projects has inspired one of your layouts or cards. A BIG Hello with Beauty and Song!

A BIG hello from Kim! Just popping in to share a quick look at some inky fun I was having, that will get added to a card base to send off to a friend! I recently got this new Picket Fence stamp set: Beauty & Song . I love all the details and look forward to using it lots more. It’s a big stamp, so you could easily use the entire image of parts of it. For this project, I stamped the sentiment on a piece of computer paper, cut around it and added some repositional adhesive to the back. Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L makes a great adhesive with the perfect amount of tack, that is easily removed when needed. I positioned the sentiment to mask the area where it would eventually be permanently stamped. I stamped my main image over the mask using a stamp positioner. Using my Life…

Tuesday With The Team – Camping Themed Layout with Kim Gowdy

Hello Creative Scrapbookers! Kim here today with a fun camping inspired layout that I hope you’ll enjoy! I am blessed with a craft room and lots of supplies to choose from. That may sound amazing, but honestly at times I think it stalls my creativity, giving me too many choices. On this particular scrapbooking session, I narrowed down my focus and picked a few products to work with, which in turn forces the other stuff out of the wayThe products I choose to work with were, Echo Park’s Little Lumberjack collection, Elizabeth Craft Designs Planner Essentials and MultiCraft glitter. I started by adhering 2 sheets of patterned paper together using Glue Dots Adhesive Sheets. Using the die from Elizabeth Craft Designs Planner Essentials set, I cut out two pages for my layout. SPA DAY! At home!!!! I found this super cute project Kim Gowdy designed from 2017 featuring Art Impressions and I just had to re-share. How wonderful would these be to receive in the mail! I think I am going to make one for my Mom and the gift card is going to be for my Dad giving her a massage! GIGGLE GIGGLE! Right now – I appreciate Art Impressions stamps EVEN MORE! March Sketchy Challenge Using Simple Stories’ So Happy Together Collection

Hehe! Kim Gowdy here today on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog. Today I am sharing a layout inspired by the March Sketchy Challenge in April! Although the sketches never have an expiry date, I feel, as part of the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine design team, I should be a little less tardy! Just another example of “real life” getting in the way of scrappy expectations! My layout is not at all complicated and did not stray too far from the original March Sketchy Challenge. Most of my papers and elements are from Simple Stories ~ So Happy Together collection. I did cut an Ali Edwards tag to use as my journaling block. I added some little dimensional elements with Wendy Vecchi Enamel Accents and stylus from Ranger. Water-coloured Missing You Pig Time Card

Do you LOVE all the water-coloured paintings you see across the internet? If you shy away because you think it’s too hard, think again! As paper crafters we have so many tools already in our stash to quickly and easily achieve gorgeous, water-coloured art! For this adorable card I stamped my Impression Obsession pig stamp onto some water colour paper using Ranger Archival Ink. I like to use a light soft colour, this allows me to see all the lines but it’s not so stark to add too much contrast to my end project. Next, I used my Simon Hurley dye inks to colour the image. Tap your ink pad on a non-stick surface, spray with water and now you have have everything you need to paint. Spritz your stamped image with some water. This allows the colours picked up by your brush to flow onto the paper, creating that dreamy,…

Mixed Media Tags from Kim

Kim here with a quick mixed media tag share! Not too long ago I shared an Instagram story showing two tags I had made using Distress Oxide Sprays and my new Dylusions’ stencils. I had just received some happy mail that included some amazing new releases from Ranger and I couldn’t wait to play. The stencils were new, the Distress Oxides from my growing Oxide ink stash. The tags sat on my desk for a few days before I layered them up with some Dina and Dyan love! I used an image from the first Dina Wakley Media Collage Collective. Newer collectives have been released this year and are equally as amazing! I used the stencil to add some words & hearts and finished off with some Dylusions Paint Pens to do some mark making. Tuesday With The Team, Paper that Makes Kim Squeal

Happy Tuesday! Kim here on the Creative Scrapbooker blog again, sharing a couple of projects I worked on this past weekend! I’m sure, if you are a bit like me, that every now and then you find some paper that makes you super happy! Well, when I came across Echo Park Paper Co. Little Lumberjack Collection, it made me squeal just a bit! I LOVE all the plaids, patterns and whimsical designs. They will honestly keep lumberjacks of all ages happy! I first created a simple layout. I layered a square of Creative Scrapbooker Super Stock to the plaid background. I don’t often work with exact measurements, instead I often just use intuition based all parts! I then cut 4 rectangles from papers in the collection, approximately 3.5 x 5. Mixed Media Thank You Card

Happy Day! Kim here on the blog today sharing a quick little card that was so satisfying to make! Why? Because I love dabbling in mixed media art supplies and when I can bring it into a card to give, it’s a win-win! First I cut a piece of Creative Scrapbooker Super Stock to work from. This 110 lb, bright white cardstock is my go-to foundation for scrapbooking and cardmaking. It holds up to everything I throw at it, it is my ‘workhorse’ in my craft room. I added a thin layer of gesso with an old credit card. I added 3 small blobs [such a technical term!] of acrylic paint to my Tim Holtz glass mat. I used a wet brush to add my paint to the background. Honestly, this step could also be done with a dry brush, it would give more opaque coverage. I like the colour…
