Happy Tuesday everyone! I am wrapping my head around the fact that fall is upon us and summer 2015 is in the books. As always, we hit the ground running at the beginning of September with the start up of all our activities. With summer fading fast, I really enjoyed pulling out a few favourite summer memories and getting them onto scrapbook paper! I hope you enjoy them too. The first is a layout I created using a photo from summer 2014. I love the look of uncertain amazement on my daughterβs face as she realized that the dragonfly actually came to rest on her outstretched finger! It was a perfect symbol of hope and light for her as she wrestled with feelings of unsettledness about our impending move. Supplies Used: Patterned Paper, stickers: Kaisercraft; Punches: Creative Memories, Stampinβ Up!; Letters: American Crafts; Die Cuts: Heidi Swapp; Acrylic Shape: Harmonie…

Hi, it’s Connie Nichol here today. Β I used the September sketch in the Canadian Scrapbooker Sketchy Challenge as a jumping off point for scrapbooking this childhood photo.Β I donβt have a lot of pictures from when I was a kid and virtually all of them are in 35 mm slide format, so I am slowly scanning, printing and scrapbooking them while my parents are still around to help me remember dates, places and people. The layout doesnβt resemble the sketch much, but thatβs the beauty of working with scrapbook sketches.Β Itβs a place to start.Β And then once started, page elements can get moved around, added to or eliminated. I have been working a lot lately with CloseΒ To My Β Heart products. Β They have some terrific stamps and I love the way the ink, cardstock and patterned paper coordinates.Β Makes everything so easy.Β This layout features the βBrushedβ patterned paper and…

Enjoy Local Scrapbook Activities A few times a year, which is all I can squeeze into my schedule, I take great pleasure in attending an evening crop or class at a local scrapbook store.Β Β I usually try to round up a few friends, but I donβt mind going by myself either.Β It is just lovely to be surrounded by fellow scrapbookers and their creative energy while working on a project uninterrupted by the details of home.Β I always meet some new people and learn some new things.Β Inspiration is everywhere! I am lucky enough to live in an area that has a number of scrapbook stores within a reasonable driving distance.Β Treasured Memories, in Edmonton, has late night crops running throughout the year and often has special themed weekend crops.Β These typically include dinner, dessert and many snacks, goodie bags,Β door prizes and a photo booth. Β Β I was able to…
