Hi, Connie Nichol here this morning with a couple of projects that recycle sewing patterns.  If you’ve seen the Summer Issue of Creative Scrapbooker Magazine, you’ll know I wrote a whole article on this topic.  Be sure to grab the magazine if you want a whole bunch of other ideas.   Among other things, the patterned tissue paper from old sewing patterns makes a great background for cards and scrapbook layouts. Here’s one of the cards I made.  Quick and simple and I think a perfect masculine birthday card.  Adhere a layer of a recycled sewing pattern to a piece of white cardstock using gel medium.  A gel medium is simply a binder without pigment that comes in various thicknesses, sheens, and transparencies.  I like the Dina Wakely matte gel medium from Ranger.   Just use a sponge brush or paint brush to apply gel medium to the base layer of cardstock…

Hey Creative Scrapbooker Fans! Katelyn Grosart here today on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog.  I’m excited to be back sharing with you my pretty card perfect for an anniversary or wedding. The jumping off point for my project was the Forever & Always collection and embellishments from Wild Whisper Designs. Which I combined with some adhesive from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L, dies from Elizabeth Craft Designs,  chipboard from Southern Ridge Trading Company, embossing powder from Emerald Creek Craft Supplies, Super Stock from Creative Scrapbooker Magazine and ink from Ranger, I was able to create this pretty Love Card. You’ll want to grab a cup of your favourite Summer beverage as I share with you how to recreate my card. Fussy cut four large flowers and ten small/medium sized flowers out of the flower paper from the Forever & Always Collection from Wild Whisper. Ink the edges of all of the flowers…

Hello everyone, Kerry Engel here today on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog excited to share with you a fun little technique to make your stamped images POP with little or no effort using a white opaque pigment pen by Ranger. I am going to call this technique – white pen painting. LOL!  I am slightly addicted. To create this layout I used a variety of Stampers Anonymous stamps, Ranger products, Glue Dots Adhesives, MultiCraft Craft Decor burlap ribbon, and wooden embellishments. I challenged myself with this layout to see how many different ways I could use stamps. To be honest I only started using stamps a few years ago when I got into mixed media. This particular group of stamps really inspires me, and they work so well with my Europe photos. When all was said and done I used my stamps in 3 different ways. I used the following…

Hi Friends and welcome to the   Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog. It is Karan Gerber here on the blog today with a school layout featuring 49 and Market. When I was thinking about what I wanted to create for you, I thought of the days when my boys went to school. It seems like so long ago.  We are in the month of June and I am sure many of you will be looking for ideas for your school photos. so I have created a masculine school layout using the Mini Old School Collection from 49 and Market. To begin with, I am using a photo of my oldest son from 2013, this is his Grade 12 photo which measures 3.5 x 5, I cut 4 photo mats from other papers in this collection begins with a 3.75 x 5.75 and each photo mat was 1/4 inch larger than the last, I…

Welcome back, crafty friends! Tracy McLennon here, and today I have a pretty little Spring-inspired butterfly layout to share featuring Pink & Main, Ranger, Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L, Kelly Creates and Chameleon Color Tone Pens. Here are all of the nitty-gritty details. Start by cutting down the Creative Scrapbooker Super Stock cardstock to 11×11. Mat your 4×6 photo in white cardstock and add Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L Black Creative Photo Corners. Using a blending tool and Ranger Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks (Peacock Feathers, Wilted Violet, Worn Lipstick), create small blended circles diagonally across the 11×11 cardstock. Using Ranger Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Ink again (Worn Lipstick, Wilted Violet, Twisted Citron) and the Pink & Main silhouette butterfly image stamp, stamp 3 images around where your photo will be in the middle of the layout. Using Ranger Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Sprays, splatter colour across the layout diagonally. Let dry…

Hello everyone! Kerry Engel here today on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog with a super fun crossword puzzle inspired layout that I really enjoyed creating. For my daughter’s birthday, we created a goofy crossword puzzle full of questions that spotlight her at 21. It was fun to listen to everyone trying to guess the answers and find my spelling mistake. (It wouldn’t be a Kerry creation if it didn’t have a spelling mistake.) How to Create a Crossword Puzzle Inspired Layout To build the crossword I used this free website https://www.puzzle-maker.com/CW. I transferred the crossword to a piece of Creative Scrapbooker Super Stock using a sketch pen and my Silhouette Cameo. If you don’t have a cutting system you could easily print the crossword and adhere it to your layout. I used the March 2019 sketchy challenge for layout inspiration.-Be sure to join our monthly challenge. I would love to…

Hey Creative Scrapbooker Fans ! Katelyn Grosart here today on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog.  Today I am sharing with you a pretty flower-themed project featuring the Botanical Garden collection by Carta Bella.  At the beginning of May, we went to the Tulip Festival in Abbotsford to check out all the amazing rows of different coloured and varieties of tulips.  So for today’s project, I created my scrapbook layout using inspiration from our May Sketch designed by Kerry Engel. With the May sketch in hand, I set off to create my layout using the Botanical Garden Collection from Carta Bella which I combined with some adhesive from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L, and ink from Ranger Ink, I was able to create my pretty Beautiful Day Scrapbook Layout. You’ll want to grab a cup of your favourite Spring beverage as I share with you how I created my scrapbook layout. Out…

Hey Creative Scrapbooker Fans! I’m thrilled to be back on the blog today sharing with you my vintage Altered Frame. Spring is definitely here and that means that I’m starting to switch up some of the décor pieces in my home.  The jumping off point for my project was the Midnight Garden collection as well as other papers and embellishments from Prima Marketing Inc which I combined with some adhesive from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L, a die from Elizabeth Craft Designs and ink from Ranger Ink, I was able to create this vintage Do Everything with Love Altered Frame. You’ll want to grab a cup of your favourite Springtime beverage as I share with you how I created my altered frame. To start, you’ll need a 6 ½” x 8 ½” frame. Mine was white and already distressed, so I didn’t do anything to it. Cut a piece out of…
