Here it is Friday again, why do they come around so fast in the summer? Hopefully our readers who have been on flood watch in Manitoba or weathered through Hurricane Arthur in the Maritimes are soon back to “routine as usual”. I am always in awe of Mother Nature and her powers, may everyone enjoy a safe summer!  Today we get to take a peek at Stacey Haniff’s colourful “sanctuary”. Lots of great storage ideas to be shared…a place for everything!    I have just finished a renovation project on my scrapbook room and wanted to share my creation. The room has received a complete overhaul for a relatively minimal cost.  Things I have changed: ~ The carpet was replaced with low cost laminate flooring. ~ The walls were updated with a fun, vibrant colour. ~ I re purposed furniture – or example the dresser you see was in my…

HELLO CANADA! Hope everyone had a fantastic Canada Day and first full week of summer holidays with the kids home from school! I had a great, “short” work week but must say having a holiday on a Tuesday played havoc with my brain. All week I seemed to have lost a day. I missed two appointments thinking they were the “next” day and here I am LATE with WHERE YOU CREATE! …oiy vey! I am sticking with the saying…”better late than never”! Without further delay, let’s take a peek into Monica Longard’s basement retreat. I am thinking this is a great place to sneak into on a hot, summer day! I first started scrapbooking in 2012. I took over the room we used for our computer/guest room.  It was about 108 square feet and had some basic shelving in it and my husband built me a couple more shelves. …

One more day until the official start of summer! We made it! WHOO HOO! Now let time slow down so we may enjoy glorious sunshine, warmth and colour that is ours to take in this season. My wish is for sunshine during the day and rain at night and time off work to enjoy it all! The long days of summer make me want to clean out corners of my home that get forgotten during the year(s)…my craft space is way up on the list of to-dos. I love bringing you WHERE YOU CREATE as it gives me lots of great organizational ideas! Here’s Claudette Nuttall’s creative space with more food for thought! Claudette share some crafty “yumminess!     For the past 35 years I have had numerous variations of craft spaces. Kitchen table (temporary at best), coffee table, living room floor, my bed, etc… Eventually my oldest daughter…

Happy Friday! Time for another WHERE YOU CREATE! Last year we took you inside the creative spaces of our Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine team members. I’d like to share another. Desiree is one of our Guest Designers; you can find her work in the magazine and on our blog. Her bio can be viewed on our home page at: http://www.canadianscrapbooker.ca/images/about/bios/desiree_saskiw.html  I know I am not alone in loving Desiree’s creative style, so let’s take a peek where it all happens! I wish I could say that my scrapbook “retreat” was as neat and tidy as I often see in magazines and on-line; however, my reality is FAR from it!  I am forever “pinning” ideas on how to be better organized in my office space, but the fact of the matter is, I NEVER keep it tidy! Although my office is not something I am proud of, I am happy to…

Hope everyone is having a great week! Spring is finally finding most of us, though one of our Instagram friends shared a picture from yesterday that had way too much snow still! Let’s all blow off some hot air this week and make the snow go away!  There will be lots of warm fuzzies at Scrapfest if you visit our booth! The Canadian Scrapbooker team can be recognized by their big smiles and laughter! Always lots of laughter! If you aren’t lucky enough to be in Kitchener, Ontario for Scrapfest, come join us on the blog to visit Janley Holeha’s scrap room! I can see myself sitting at her desk with a big cup of coffee, enjoying the view and getting very inspired to create. Hello! I just wanted to share my craft space that my little girl and I enjoy so much.  When I started reading the ‘Where…

Last week found my life crazy busy with no time to get you a craft space to peek into. So sorry to those who check in every week to see who’s creative space we are sharing! This week however we have a great before/after version of a craft room shared by Kim Veveers. We are lucky that she took pictures at both ends of her renovation so we can see all she has done! The before pictures show a wonderful space, but I love the changes she made. It is a lovely, bright space that I could easily spend hours of my time! Hi Kim  I thought I would share my craft room with you and your readers. My husband and I worked on it last spring and I was very pleased with the results.  The room was given a complete overhaul; getting rid of furniture,…

According to the calendar, Spring HAS arrived! Many of us across Canada would beg to differ! We look out our windows and the sun and longer days tell us it has arrived; but the snow, cold temperatures and winter clothes tell us a different story! Hang in; I am confident it will come. On the bright side it gives us more time to enjoy our creative spaces without the guilt of knowing we should be outside soaking up the sun!  One again we are heading south [maybe in hopes of warmer weather?] to Illinois! I checked…it’s 8C there today…warmer than WE are, but not by much! Valerie Ward is sharing her space!  I transformed my Dining Room into a Craft Room when I got kicked out of my awesome space in our basement a year ago (my pre-teen son really needed his own pad). This is my space…

Today we are going to visit a neighbour from the south. I LOVE that we are finding new friends all over the globe and think it’s important to welcome them with open arms! Let’s give a great, big Canadian HELLO {eh?} to Heather Thompson! Off we go to Bloomer {love the name!}, Wisconsin to check out her great craft room! May I just add that ANY husband that thinks their wife’s craft room is TOO SMALL is a keeper! {just sayin!} My name is Heather Thompson. I am a RN by night and a mother by day. I am a mother of two young children; Maksim – my 4 year old, little guy and Olivia – my very creative 5 year old. We live in Bloomer, Wisconsin in an old farm house. I finally got my room now that the kids are old enough to sleep upstairs. I inherited their…

This week we’re heading to Ontario to visit Karrie Sweet’s craft room! I LOVE that she has just “found” us and has so quickly decided to share with us! It appears from her pictures that her craft room is FULL, just like her life! Look closely at all the storage ideas she shares, and of course check out how adorable her cat is! I stumbled across your site, and am so happy to have done so!  I didn’t even know there was a Canadian Scrapbooking Magazine; though I did know there were lots of wonderfully talented Canadian ladies. I have always enjoyed looking at other crafty spaces and would like to share mine. I live in Ontario, and am a full time receptionist.  My hubby and I enjoy travelling; motor-bikes, camping/boating, and I play beach and indoor volleyball. I started scrapping in 2001 when I made an album…

Well we are back again to Where You Create after missing last week! Five of us from Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine were fortunate enough to share an amazing weekend [last week] scrapbooking in Trochu, Alberta with some friends. It was a wonderful time filled with lots of laughs and our hosts at the St. Ann Ranch get 6 out of 5 stars! So while we were having so much fun, I missed sharing a creative space with you! This week we are heading to Saskatchewan! When I read that Jessica’s craft room was in her basement I was shocked…it is so bright and lovely! The colour of her walls makes me swoon! *LOVE* I also adore all of her personal touches on her walls and that “punch” of pink is ROCKIN! Enjoy!   Hi! Here are some photos of my scrap room. When we built our home…
