Brrrrrrr…it is NOT a toasty January day in Alberta. For those of you in a deep freeze…stay warm, for the rest of you…invite us for coffee! Most of us have settled back into routine after the holidays and I am happy to be bringing back more creative spaces in 2015! As we look into Wendy King’s room today, I hope you will consider sending in some pictures of your space so we can share ideas with like-minded scrapbookers throughout Canada and across our borders! Yay…I am so excited to send you pictures of my haven. I have been a scrapbooker for over 20 years and my home has my PERFECT scrapbook space. My favourite things are… My Paula Deen Gathering Table; high and perfect!!! I don’t get a sore back anymore. My Expedit Shelf from IKEA: Turquoise: Frames, I LOVE frames: I have spent years trying figuring out what…

Happy New Year!   Can you believe we are into 2015 already! WOW! I hope 2014 left you with wonderful memories and the next year adds many more! Here at Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine we look forward to bringing you lots of inspiration between our pages, on our blog and through social media! We hope you continue to share with us!  So without further delay, let’s get into our first creative space of 2015 in our weekly feature on the blog: WHERE YOU CREATE! We are visiting Susan Richter, in Nova Scotia!    I want to share some pictures of my favourite room in our house….my craft room! When my husband and I began working on plans to build our very first home, 4 years ago, a craft room for me was a must have. We studied many floor plans before we finally came up with the perfect one, and I…

Here we are the last Friday of November. Has anyone else had enough of winter? My world is blanketed in white snow and I am confident it will be here for a long time! Time to put on my brave face and accept the challenge of winter in Alberta! Today I take you to Calgary for a peek into Allison Rombough creative space. Allison recently got married in August of this year. She and her husband live in a 2 bedroom condo that they share with a special needs adult. Allison has been a “Supportive Roommate” for twelve years and gave up her second bedroom so her client could move in with them. Her roommate keeps her company while her husband goes to school in Winnipeg to get his PHD. That meant she needed to get creative with carving out a scrapbooking space for her needs. She has done…

Happy Friday! It’s November 21st and the countdown is on! One month until the winter solstice! A happy day in my world, and the day where we start adding more sunlight to our world! The next month will be tough from a vitamin D standpoint but fortunately will be busy with Christmas preparations and parties! We can do it! While dreaming of brighter days, I thought we would share Michelle Kuijer’s creative space this week. I was drawn to the warmth of her wall colour! Let’s peek inside! Here is my current scrapbook space. My room is painted my favourite color; ORANGE!  I have a small room that I share with my husband (he gets a small corner of the room). I had my dear husband, a.k.a. DH; install the “media stix” for my ink pads as well as the picture shelf for wood stamps and other cool things. I…

Brrrrrrr…winter has arrived in Alberta! I don’t think we have been totalling singled out, but I know there are lots of places in Canada I’d rather be at the moment! ‘Tis the season to hunker in and stay warm; that often equates to more time in our craft rooms. There could be worse evils! While we dream of more time in our own rooms, let’s go inside Deborah’s space to see where she creates! Here is my crafty space!  I work from home and my real work is on the other side of this room. I must say I spend too much time on the work side and not enough on the craft side! Ha ha. The desk is an antique library table from my dad’s family. Thanks Deborah for sharing your work & creative space with us. Some really great storage ideas can be found if you spend…

Happy Friday! So we made it through Halloween and reset our clocks back an hour…HELLO November! I am always envious of Saskatchewan when we have to “fall back” in November. I really miss the daylight at the end of the day, more so than having it in the morning! Time to pull out that bottle of vitamin D…sunshine in a pill! Today I though we’d reminisce a bit and look back at some of the great creative spaces shared with us! I am in awe of all the submissions we get for this feature and LOVE the ideas everyone shares with us. Don’t worry if your room hasn’t been showcased yet…I will get to them! As we hunker into Fall and Winter, I find myself spending more time in my scrapbook room. I love the idea of reorganizing my stash so it is easily seen yet out of my way. I…

Today as you prepare for ghosts and goblins to come knocking at your door, don’t forget to take a break and visit this week’s WHERE YOU CREATE! A room in Lloydminster jam packed with great storage ideas for small spaces! Don’t let room size SPOOK you…come trick or treat at Geo Schapansky’s house for some creative ideas! Hi there! My name is Geo Schapansky and I’ve been scrapbooking for many years. I live in Lloydminster and was introduced to scrapbooking through a Creative Memories home party way back in 1996; that my sister in law invited me to. I don’t think I had any idea what I was getting myself into this many years later. In our home I have a really small room that is about 7’x9′ in which I create. In a space this small organization is important and I’m always looking for new storage ideas. My…

I’m late, I’m late for a very important date! Sorry today’s WHERE YOU CREATE is late! I left things to the last minute this week and when I sat to work at my blog post…COMPUTER ISSUES! Arghhhh…Murphy’s Law! Computers are such wonderful tools when they work! This afternoon the stars have lined up and programs are talking together nicely! Fortunately after a spike in my blood pressure  [:-O]  we get to tour the relaxing and wonderful creative space of Sherry Jackson! This is sure to bring us back into a ZEN moment! I’m the owner of Shabby Shutters; A Paper Crafters Paradise & More. Recently I closed my Main Street location and converted to all on-line. In doing so; my very supportive husband and I redesigned the down stairs “family room” into my new craft studio. I absolutely love it!!  My inspiration is all vintage and will shine through in the photos. …

Guess what day it is? FRIDAY! That means it’s all about WHERE YOU CREATE! I have been blessed with lots of travel over the past six months, which means lots of pictures to sort through, to share and of course to scrapbook! I have a confession…although I LOVED every minute of each trip we took…I am ready to plop this Canadian bum down for a while and get back into a routine! I need to reorganize my life and scrapbook room! Spare time will find me going through all the WHERE YOU CREATE blog posts to get ideas from our wonderful submissions! Keep them coming! Today’s creative space comes from Susan Mehlen! This is my “creative space”. I’m always reorganizing as I add supplies to my collection. My husband shares this basement room with me. He calls it his office; I call it my Scrapbook room! I also have a…

As I sit here and prepare this week’s WHERE YOU CREATE blog post it feels so fall like. The temperatures in Edmonton have dipped to single digits…Brrrrrrr! I am hopefully when this goes live the temperatures will have crept up to be more seasonal; and this will be a “weather blip” in our past. I am confident we have lots of potential for nicer, autumn days!  BUT! …if the weather is still cool; a visit into Jodi’s craft room will change your mood! Her colourful space will bring back good memories of summer with her gorgeous blues and green!   I have loved reading and seeing the different scrappy rooms on your blog.   Since I just completed my own scrap room a couple of months ago, thought I’d submit some pictures to you.  I have a small spare bedroom; 8’ x9’, so needed to be able to utilize the space…
