Hi everyone! Noreen Smith here, and Iβm so happy to be back on the Creative Scrapbooker blog today sharing a couple of projects made with Creative Memoriesβ new school-themed Bookworm Collection!
A Peek at the Bookworm Collection
Iβm sure I say this every year, but where has the summer gone? Itβs hard to believe that itβs the middle of August and my kids will be starting school in just a couple of weeks! But, I must admit that Back-to-School is one of my favorite times of the year.Β I love thinking about the possibilities of the year ahead, buying fun new stationary supplies and enjoying the hint of fall leaves in the air. As Iβve been getting ready for the new school year, I just had to stop to reflect on past school years and create a quick layout and teacher gift with CMβs cute new products!
For the layout I chose a few photos of my older son on his first day of Grade 2. He felt like such a pro at this school thing, and he wasnβt at all nervous. I thought it was so cute how he had to give a βthumbs upβ in every picture we took of him that morning! I used Beige Cardstock as the base for my layout and laid two strips trimmed from the ABC Symbols Paper about 1/2β up from the bottom edge. I arranged four 4 x 6 photos above that, and added a 4 x 6 card from the Variety Mat Pack to serve as my title. I cut two little banners from the Green Chalkboard Paper and placed them on either side of the title card. Then I used the Border Maker System and the Zig-Zag Border Maker Cartridge to punch out two strips from the Orange Test Paper, which I adhered over the seam where the photos and the ABC strips met. Die-cut tags, word art & icon stickers, a few cute enamel stars and some journaling with my Black Dual-Tip Pen finished off the layout.

Teacher Gift Ideas
Since I had the Bookworm collection already out, I couldnβt resist creating a fun tag for the little Teacher Gift Sam will be bringing to his teacher on the first day of school.
There is a large assortment of printed die-cut tags in the Bookworm Embellishments pack so I chose the Report Card tag and gave Samβs teacher top marks! I used the Black Dual-Tip pen and the new red pen from the Pens & Pouch set to write out the card and added a sticker and an enamel star. Cute & fun! And what teacher wouldnβt want a gift with a Report Card like that!
