Hello everyone – Kerry Engel here! With the start of a new month – brings us our monthly sketch challenge. Here is July’s sketch… Six photos on one page! This is a great layout for telling a visual story. Clustering the pics tightly on the left and keeping the right side empty balances the design. Succulent Summer LayoutMy daughter and I have a lot of succulents. The Simple Stories Summer Days Collection was perfect for our springtime ritual. I created the “succulent” title and white border (based on the sketch) on my cutting system. I filled in the flowers with different papers from the collection. June 3-IN-1 Sketchy Challenge by Kerry Engel

Hello everyone, Kerry Engel here with one sketch – three different projects. This is a good sketch for a big or dominant photo that really tells your story. The curvy diagonal lines create movement and energy. Supplies: Creative Memories Cap and Gown Collection, Clearsnap ColorBox ink and embossing powder, Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L, Stampin’ Up! gold thread, Studio Calico brad. An old Colleague of mine posted her graduation photos on Facebook one day and I instantly had an urge to scrap them. The Cap and Gown collection from Creative Memories has several “2107” embellishments but it’s really a versatile collection. The colors work really well with vintage photos. I glammed it up a bit with gold embossing powder and shiny brads and thread. The papers held up well to mix media techniques. And the coordinating album is a really classy. Inspired by Sketches! My life is more hectic than I can keep up with much of the time and I treasure the opportunities I get to be creative and create wonderful capsules for my family’s memories. I love sketches as a great ‘get me started’ tool. Sometimes the result looks a lot like the sketch and sometimes not, but it really does not matter either way! Here are my takes on three of Creative Scrapbooker Magazine’s sketches. 3-in-1 May Sketchy Challenge by Kerry Engel This month’s Creative Scrapbooker Magazine Sketchy Challenge is bubbling with fun. There are so many ways to interpret this design. My daughter was home from University one weekend studying economics and finance. Her weekend was basically summed up by the fun emojis in Simple Stories Emoji Love collection. It’s a great collection for telling stories without a lot of words.Supplies: Creative Scrapbooker Super Stock, Simple Stories Emoji Love collection, Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L. I wanna bring back “Sticker Cards”. (Not sure “Sticker Cards” was ever really a trend but they should have been because it’s quick and dirty).
