Adding sewing products to your scrapbooking and paper crafting creations is definitely a trendy rage right now. It is so easy to add a button here or there, add machine stitching OR simply add a mess of sewing thread! Yes you read the correctly!ย  A mess of sewing thread adhered to your layout is the perfect amount of layered texture without adding any bulk. I first saw this technique way back in the Spring 2015 issue of Creative Scrapbooker Magazine, on one of Christy Riopel’s layouts, of course. She was cutting edge way back then. Love it! Spring 2015 Creative Scrapbooker Magazine In this issue, Christy wrote and designed, a feature article called “From My Grandmother’s Sewing Basket”. The article was all about pulling out your sewing baskets and using your supplies on your paper crafting projects.ย  The layouts in this feature are absolutely gorgeous and incorporate all things sewing…

โ€œDouble double, toil & troubleโ€…. Tim Hortons? Shakespeare?… No, Creative Memories. Kerry Engel here today on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog having double the fun with two layouts and Creative Memories Toil & Trouble Collection. Feeling Punchy The colors in this collection are rich and yummy; teal and orange are so fun for fall. The coordinating cardstock is perfect for punching out embellishments or to use as a base. Creative Memories has some fabulous punches, the pumpkin one just makes me grin.ย The footprint punch was probably made with beach layouts in mind butย  I punched out the foot prints on the bottom edge and then placed a black piece of paper behind the cut-out to create some creepy ghost like foot prints. Are you scared??? The fence and pumpkin punches layer nicely. How cute are teal pumpkins? To create more depth I inked all my edges in Rangerย  vintage photo…

Happy Monday everyone! Kerry Engel here today on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog. Don’t you just love patterned paper with large life-like quality graphics on them? Full image graphic patterned papers, such as those from Paper House Productions are so stunning I am almost afraid to use them with my photographs. I find that Iย  just want to put the paper with the beautiful graphic images, without anything on it, in my albums! They are so gorgegeous and at the same time can be intimidating! The Creative Scrapbooker Magazine team has fallen in love with the Delish Collection from Paper House Productions. A few weeks ago Tracy McLennon also created a layout featuring this gorgoues collection of patterned paper with LARGE graphical photo quality images on them – CLICK HERE to see Tracy’s creation. Here is what I created with a few different pieces of patterned papers from Paper House…

Christy Riopel instantly fell in love with Izinks from Clearsnap. I remember they day Clearsnap sent them to the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine team to play with – a few of us were like “What the heck do you do with these?” I for one am a die hard collector of all things scrapbooking pretty so I instantly knew where they were going to be displayed in my craft room but had no idea how to use them. Giggle Giggle. Not Christy. The first few projects she created with the Izinks were gorgeous, after that the projects were beyond beautiful. What are Izinks? First off, they are stored in the cutest little bottles! Izinks are acrylic based pigment ink. The ink is opaque and will not produce a patine effect. They are acid free and are mostly used for srapbooking and hobby crafts. Of course they come in a wide…

Hello everyone Kerry Engel here today on the blog having fun with the Canada 150 logo. Did you know that the super cute Canada 150 logo is available for you to download? There are so many imaginative ways for us to use it. A quick search on Pinterest revealed that quilters have taken up the challenge but I havenโ€™t seen many paper crafters doing anything imaginative with this inspirational design. (Except of course, Tracyโ€™s McLennonโ€™s coloring page thatโ€™s available free on our website!) – CLICK HERE to get Tracy’s colouring page. The logo was created by Arian, Cuvin from Toronto, Ontario. According to the website โ€œThe logo is composed of a series of diamonds, or โ€œcelebratory gemsโ€, arranged in the shape of the iconic maple leaf. The four diamonds at the base represent the four original provinces that formed Confederation in 1867: Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. Additional…

Hello, Connie Nichol here today with a ย layout that features some adorably funny Art Impressions stamps. ย These stamps always brings a huge smile to my face. ย Although I’m sure they are most often used to make cards, why not use them to embellish a scrapbook layout? ย I had the perfect photograph to go with a stamp of three friends drinking wine! Stamps Used Here’s the Art Impressions stamp sets I used. ย I had two sets of funny wine stamps in my stash and I wanted to use them both. ย I stamped and coloured the ladies from the Girlfriends set with markers, then stamped some of the funny wine expressions, cutting each of them out and backing with black cardstock. Paper Products Used The paper and stickers I used are from the Be Happy 12 x 12 paper pad from Paper House Productions. ย Such beautiful patterns and these soft pink and…

Hi, Connie Nichol here today with a bright and cheerful scrapbook page featuring Close to my Heart products. My kids and I travelled to Germany last summer with friends and had the best time. ย  And took a lot of pictures. ย Ha! ย You’ll be seeing a of them as I slowly get them scrapbooked. This layout started with the Happy thin cuts die from CTMH. I coloured the die cut with Chameleon alcohol ink markers and then added three coats of Ranger clear embossing powder to make the words glossy and dimensional. ย You can see how to do this step by step in the Creative Scrapbooker Technique Taster’s Web Show #105 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5NnLYeAYb6A&t=6s It’s easy to do and looks very cool. I used patterned paper from the Close To My Heart Adventure Fundamentals line – so bright and colourful – and coordinating die cuts from the Good Life Fundamentals packet. ย ย …
