Follow me through the process and try some of these fun techniques on your next project! Night Dreamer is my newest pages in my first art journal. I know I keep saying how much I am enjoying journaling because it’s true! It all started with my pages I gessoed black. At first this was a great idea, then I felt it was a bad idea… then I went with it and I was beyond happy with it. After the pages were painted all black I went back over with white gesso to create a hill effect and road Colouring with various Ranger green distress crayons for shading and lighting. How you Bean… Nicole here and I am sharing my Art Journal pages in my 115 year old book! ACK… I know it’s old but it is so much fun. Not everything I get in the mail is something I would normally create with. That doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy the challenge of making this my own style. It creatively opens my mind up and pushes my limits. I picked this pretty spring paper Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid Rainbow Petite Paper pack. I do love plaid. I stamped on the pattern paper and wait for it… fussy cut. All those jelly’s stamped and yes, more fussy cutting. I wanted to layer and stack the jars. Trimming the beans so they spill the way the jars tilt. ACK… trying the new Ranger Distress Oxide Ink by watercoloring the jelly’s. Love them!!! Time to make this easy and my Xyron Create a Sticker to adhere all these jelly…

Happy Easter Card with Katelyn Grosart

Hey Creative Scrapbooker Fans! With Easter right around the corner, I thought I would share with you today an Easter card for that special someone in your life. Using the Butterfly Kisses Collection from Bo Bunny, a variety of dies from Elizabeth Craft Designs, stamps, stones and embossing powder from Emerald Creek Craft Supplies and a variety of products from Ranger Ink, I was able to create this beautiful Easter card. You’ll want to make sure to grab a cup of your favourite beverage, as I will show you how to recreate this project in the comforts of your own home. Using the Gatefold – Elegant Rose die from Elizabeth Craft Designs, die cut the gatefold out of Tutu Double Dot from Bo Bunny. With the gatefold cut out, trim two pieces out that measure 2” x 1 ¾”. Hello Everyone! Corina Finley here with you today to share my ‘Simple Pleasures’ Coffee themed layout featuring Heartfelt Creations and Southern Ridge Trading Co. chipboard. I created this page to capture my Sunday morning ritual. On Sundays, my oldest son brings me my first cup of coffee of the day in bed! I get to start my day by laying back and relaxing with my dog Kuma. He thinks that the king size bed really belongs to him and sleeps whichever direction he wants! I like to start my projects by collecting the supplies that I think I will need from around my studio and having them on my work surface. I do still have to grab other items as my design idea changes but I find by doing this it cut back on getting distracted. Wouldn’t we all like one of these sitting on the table. What a pretty specimen this would make. Today I am sharing a tutorial for Sizzix using the Flower Garden and Mini Bouquet. You can get the Framelits to go with the Mini Bouquet and Flower Garden Stamps. No fussy cutting! Well I was going through my “Library” of dies looking for the Apothecary die and I found the Bell Jar w/Pedestal first…so it wins! The best part about these stamps… no cutting! Stamp and line up the Framelit. Every flower needs a butterfly and the Butterfly Duo w/Texture Fade is exceptional. The Magrnetic Platform is essential for the Framelits and Thinlits. It helps to use a little washi to hold the famelits in place so it won’t shift. Plastic packaging is perfect for the Bell Jar glass portion. I used the new Mixed Media #8 Distress Tags with the Flourish Texture Fade. Once the tag is embossed I covered the tag with gesso. While that…

Ranger Industries – what’s new for 2017

Being asked to join Jackie at Ranger’s CHA media release was pretty exciting until my alarm went off so early that morning. Tired eyes were soon open with excitement at all the fabulous new releases being shared at Ranger’s booth. They had four stations set up, and we got to spend about 20 minutes at each one with Ranger’s Signature Designers; Tim Holtz, Dina Wakley, Dyan Reaveley and Susan Lenart Kazmer…pretty easy to get just a tad star struck! Each proved to be down to earth and all had a wonderful sense of humour…made you love them that much more! First up was Tim Holtz. Lots of buzz at his table with the release of his Oxide Ink Pads, new Distress Crayons sets, Crayon Tin storage, 1 oz. size of Collage Medium, storage jars and Woodgrain Cardstock. Feeling Rusty by Kerry Engel This page looks like it should weigh about 3 pounds. But it doesn’t. Those gears – they are totally fake. What would take nature about 5 years to accomplish I created in roughly 20 minutes, with a little help from Pentart Rust Effects distributed by Bo Bunny The gears were cut using a Tim Holtz die cut from Sizzix. I covered them in Ranger black gesso and pressed the Rust Effect powder distributed by Bo Bunny into the wet gesso. Then I added the Rust Effect Reagent from Pentart distributed by Bo Bunny on top and brushed it around with an old paintbrush. Once dry I covered in the Pentart Varnish. I thought that would seal in the rust shavings. The gears remain pliable and very light weight. They look very realistic and give my page some lovely texture. I think I’ll do this on…

Hi everyone,Kim here ? Thanks for checking into the CSM blog today. I just wanted to share this month’s sketch, designed by Kelly Klapstein. This month’s sketch was designed with card making in mind, ‘tis the season of making, giving and receiving cards! It’s a great sketch! I however used it as a starting point for a layout. That’s is the cool thing about sketches…they are simply a starting point for creativity. I used Close to My Heart’s “City Sidewalk” collection. I ADORE everything about this collection, it’s full of fun, whimsical papers, die cuts and glittery accents and also has a corresponding Cricut cartridge to keep the fun going strong! I decided to make a gift card holder while I had all this fun product out, I’ll need a few more before December 25th! As you can see, I did not follow the sketch for the card…but plan to…
