Hey everyone, Nicole over at Nicole Wright Designs and I am sharing a creative challenge I faceโฆ a simple clean card.ย I always want to throw all my inks, stamps, die cuts, stencils and embellishments at them.ย This card is so clean and basic thereโs barely even a tutorial.ย That is great if you want to make some quick holiday cards or gift tags.ย Take the stress out of the holidays and keep it simple. The key to making these quick with a little bling are the Ranger Metal Foil Tape Sheets. I cut the Woodlands, Holiday Words Block and Holiday Words Script Thinlits with the Foil Sheets. Using the Magnetic Platorm for the Thinlits makes cutting easy as the dies wonโt shift. 2. Simply position and stick the Woodlands Metal Foil Tree onto your cardstock. No glue required. Mount your treed layerย with Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L 3D Foam…
Christmas Advent Calendar – Guest Post with Katelyn Grosart Hey Creative Scrapbooker Fans! Christmas is right around the corner and I thought that it would be fun to share with you this fabulous Advent Calendar kit from Southern Ridge Trading Company. Using the advent calendar kit as well as adding some other chipboard pieces from Southern Ridge Trading Company and pairing them up with embossing powder from Emerald Creek Craft Supplies as well as a variety of products from Ranger Ink, I was able to create this beautiful vintage Advent Calendar. Youโll want to grab a cup of your favourite beverage as I have a tutorial for you, so that you can recreate this project in the comforts of your own home. To start, youโll need the top piece of the advent calendar, which is the piece that has the doors on it. Cover the entire surface with Victorian Velvet…
Hey Crafters, Nicoleย Wright here and Iโm back to share my love for industrial crafting.ย With the new Sizzix ย Gears available I decided to haul out my Sizzixย Gadget Gears die (I believe the first Sizzix die I ever bought) and have a little fun experimenting with my embossing powders and distress crayons. I cut a set of Gadget Gears with Sizzix Little Sizzles White Mat Board.ย I heat embossed a coat of Emerald Creek Craft Suppliesย Era Hammered Metal Embossing Powder.ย This thick powder leaves open spots to add color.ย I wanted to see if the distress crayons would work to create a weathered patina on the gears. On the set of gears I used Ranger distress crayons vintage photo, mermaid lagoon, peacock feathers and peeled paint.ย The distress crayons fill in the areas the thick embossing powders donโt.ย Once the colors are filled in I used a baby wipe to remove…
Hello, Connie Nichol here today with a fall layout featuring some gorgeous Momenta textured cardstock that has a dreamy water colour look. The cardstock comes in an 8×8 paper pad with three sheets of each design. ย The colours will go with almost everything. I put two of the 8×8 cardstock sheets in opposite corners on a sheet of 12×12 cardstock and then filled in the corners with some shimmery Art-C paint and a self adhesive stencil. ย Because hey, who doesn’t like to play with shimmery paint? ย This stuff is gorgeous. ย And the colour stops my heart. I filled in what was left of the gap between the stenciled paint and the cardstock with a piece of May Arts gingham ribbon, and then mounted my photograph. ย (P.S. By the way, especially for Canadians, I had this 8×8ย photoย enlargement printed at www.blacks.ca for 99 cents on a sale last month. ย I am super…

Crazy Cats can Dream too! Nicole here share this funny little card and an easy tutorial for a background.ย This card is inspired by my crazy cat.ย She ate my stampsโฆyep you saw that right.ย She ate my Upstream stamps. I hauled out my Upstream stamps and Crazy Cats stamps and Sizzix Crazy Cat dies.ย I cut Dream with the Alphanumeric die on Sizzix leather paper.ย I stamped this crazy cat onto watercolor paper inked with Ranger ย Archival Jet Black. I used Ranger Ink Distress Markers hickory smoke, carved pumpkin, twisted pumpkin and vintage photo to create my tabby crazy cat.ย Just like Miss Flurryโฆ the stamp eating cat.ย I just got the Sizzix Crazy Cat dies so it was so great to not fussy cut. Now that the Crazy Cat is quickly cut I can start the background.ย I used my Ranger Distress Ink to ink up my Upstream…
Hello Everyone!ย I have been having a lot of fun lately with the new Tim Holtz Distress Crayons from Ranger. You might know that I’ve been slightly obsessed with watercolour and creating watercolour effects with different products.ย So I used the Distress Crayons to design this Mother’s Day card. Here are the Tim Holtz (Ranger) supplies I started with to create the stamped flowers: Distress Watercolor Cardstock, Waterbrush, Collage Brush, Distress Collage Medium, the Distress Crayon (Seedless Preserves). I brushed the Distress Collage Medium on the Distress Watercolor paper using the Collage Brush.ย Just remember to clean your brush well right after and don’t let the medium dry on it. Let the medium on the paper dry completely and then scribble some distress crayon colour onto it. Why did I add the medium first? I find the Distress Crayons move better and dissolve into a watercolour more easily, but…
Hello everyone – Kerry Engel here – Iโm late to the Tim Holtz Crazy Bird game. Now Iโm slightly addicted. I created a flock of birds and then used them on a variety of project. Itโs handy to have a pile of them ready and waiting to add to your projects. Tack one on a card or create a wall hanging like I did. I even have three adhered to a lamp in my studio. How to make a flock: 1. Stamp the birds on Creative Scrapbooker Superstock (or a very sturdy cardstock) with a permanent waterproof black ink. 2. Spread Top Boss Clear Embossing Fluid over the image by pressing the ink pad over the image. Covering your image with Top Boss makes the colored ink blend more smoothly. 3. Apply ink from ColorBox Blends and ColorBox ink. Blend with the Smooch tip. Leave white space to create highlight.…
