It’s 2015 and guess what? I got another year older. This year, my aging friends and I decided to have a DIY gift exchange (don’t ask… we don’t even know what we were trying to achieve). With little time and my box of new Stampin’ Up! goodies from the Occasions catalog, I created my gift… several years of embarrassing pictures in one tiny album. Introducing…. the amazing “So You Project Kit” from Stampin’ Up! This kit comes with twenty 4×4” page protectors, a mini kraft album, “wood-sy” patterned paper, washi, wood veneers, window sheets, epoxy stickers.. and so much more! Sorry… embarrassing photos are not included! I am not re-inventing the wheel here but instead providing you a quick an easy way to cross off your New Years Scrapbooking Resolutions’ Project List. I am always looking for an easy way for everything – rather than get out my sewing machine…

Hello Everyone!  It’s Kelly here today to share with you a Christmas card I designed using beautiful FabScraps papers.  Have you made any cards this year?  I don’t know how it’s already December, and I have been trying to finish off a few more cards. The hanging ornaments are FabScraps chipboard that I altered with a FabScraps stencil and Viva Décor Ferro, which is like a grainy molding paste with a metallic finish. I first painted the chipboard ornaments with white gesso. Then I used this FabScraps stencil and applied the Viva Décor Ferro with a palette knife. When you lift off the stencil, you see a really cool 3D metallic pattern. Just let dry for a few minutes. It dries very quickly! Using May Arts ribbon, I finished off the ornaments and card. This will be my last post until the new year….so even though it’s early, I wish…

Today on our blog we welcome Nadine Wachter, who is sharing some fabulous Bo Bunny Christmas cards! Happy Monday Canadian Scrapbookers! I am Nadine Wachter, and I am so grateful to be here guest blogging today. My busiest time is the Christmas season, and I can often be found buried in patterned paper. The cards that I am sharing with you today were created as a card class for Treasured Memories. The great thing about all my classes is that I also turn them into take home kits. If you’re not able to attend class you don’t have to worry about missing out. The kits come with all the product, photos & instructions that you would need to create the cards in the samples. The other great thing is the staff will mail the kits out to you. No one gets left out. (Not to toot my own horn, but I…

WOW!! To have reached 50,000 followers on Facebook is quite an achievement! Way to go Canadian Scrapbooker!! I couldn’t be prouder to be part of such an amazing and talented team. Congratulations from the bottom of my heart! With a red coffee cup in hand, I set out to take on the world. “Well. Hello December.” I’ve been obsessed with the new Hello December Project Life © by Stampin’ Up! card and accessory kit. I cannot wait to start documenting this merry month using these kits inside a 6×8” cherry cobbler album. I am showing the cover today and will gradually show bits and pieces of the rest of the month. Make sure you stay tuned to my blog and CS to see continued updates of my pages as I move through the month. On this album cover, I heat embossed the snowflakes using the Project Life © December Wonder stamp…

Hello all!  It’s the start of another month and the countdown is on to the holidays! Today, I’m sharing the December sketch for our Sketchy Challenge!  Have you checked out our gallery yet?  Lots of inspiration to be found, both in sketches AND our readers’ designs!  You can view it HERE without signing up, but to upload your designs and to comment, you will need to register and log in.  It’s easy – most of the information can be found in our Before You Begin and FAQs links on the left side of the page. Here’s the December sketch: So,… (*looks around, furtively*)… do you want to know a little secret?? 🙂  Usually, the monthly sketch comes from a sketchbook of ideas that I’ve created at random, but sometimes, just sometimes, the sketch is inspired by a layout that I’ve created on a whim! That was the case in this month’s…

Today on our blog, we welcome Marcy Penner, who is sharing her scrapbooking process with Project Life. Hi everyone. I’m honoured to be sharing one of my Project Life spreads with you all today. This is my fourth year using pocket pages in my scrapbooking, and I’m still loving it. It’s a little bit of a visual diary and encompasses all kinds of little details and memorabilia that don’t make it onto my regular layouts. This year I tackled a 9×12” size and snuck a 6×8” Handbook size in during the summer months. I’m excited to carry on with this project next year as well. I’ll be detailing my approach for 2015 on my blog in the near future so I’d love it if you’d stop by! Note: I created a 9×12” album by trimming down an American Crafts 12×12 album and by trimming off the last three inches of…

Today on our blog we welcome Wilna Furstenberg, an artist who has developed a passion for scrapbooking and inspires us through her classes and workshops, and especially her fabulous layouts. Hi to my fellow Canadians! My name is Wilna Furstenberg, and I am a very proud Canadian! I am a scrapbooker and product designer and have been a part of the Scrapbooking Industry since 2003. I would love to tell you my story today. Go and grab a Timmies (Medium with 2 milk for me) and come and hang out with me while I entertain you with tidbits of my life. I was born and raised in South Africa and graduated with a degree in Fine Arts at the University of Pretoria in 1996. I painted huge oil paintings in those 4 years, and little did I know then that most of my life’s creative work would be 12×12 inches! I…

Yummy Bo Bunny neutrals and Canuck Crafts Spectrum Noir Bendable Pencils! Materials: Bo Bunny patterned papers, stickers, flowers, wood embellishments and jewels, Canuck Crafts Spectrum Noir pencils, and blender marker, Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L.  Canuck Crafts Spectrum Noir pencils are so creamy and rich that they make them the perfect way to add colour to these beautiful Bo Bunny papers. I used them under my embellishments to create a beautiful peek-a-boo of warm colour.  I started by drawing a line where the edge of my photo will be and then colouring in areas around it.  I ran out of blending solution for the pencils, but in the pinch I discovered something fantastic!!! I used my blending Spectrum Noir Marker to polish and blend my colouring.  This makes it look like water colours, but without the bubbling and wetness of traditional water colour pencils. So the next time you want a…
