Hello everyone Kerry Engel here today on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog playing with Heartfelt Creations. I love growing Calla Lilies and every year I have several blooming in my yard so of course I was instantly drawn to this Heartfelt Creations collection. Once I start making flowers I end up making a bouquetโ€™s worth. They are addictive and so rewarding. The Heartfelt Creations, Calla Lily collection is made up of papers, stamps and dies that coordinate for easy, beautiful floral creativity. I did a little research on the colors of Calla lilies – to help me with my card making. According to the Proflowers website: White symbolizes purity and innocence. Yellow symbolizes gratitude. Pink symbolizes appreciation and romance. Purple symbolizes royalty and admiration. Black symbolizes elegance and mystery. Red symbolizes beauty and courage. โ€ฆ.Good info to know when youโ€™re making cards! Hereโ€™s how I created my flowers: Using the…

Hehe! Kim Gowdy here today on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog. Today I am sharing a layout inspired by the March Sketchy Challenge in April! Although the sketches never have an expiry date, I feel, as part of the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine design team, I should be a little less tardy! Just another example of โ€œreal lifeโ€ getting in the way of scrappy expectations! My layout is not at all complicated and did not stray too far from the original March Sketchy Challenge. Most of my papers and elements are from Simple Stories ~ So Happy Together collection. I did cut an Ali Edwards tag to use as my journaling block. I added some little dimensional elements with Wendy Vecchi Enamel Accents and stylus from Ranger. My journaling is done using Kelly Creates fineliner and I found a very old stamp in my stash for adding the month to my…

Do you LOVE all the water-coloured paintings you see across the internet? If you shy away because you think itโ€™s too hard, think again! As paper crafters we have so many tools already in our stash to quickly and easily achieve gorgeous, water-coloured art! For this adorable card I stamped my Impression Obsession pig stamp onto some water colour paper using Rangerย Archival Ink. I like to use a light soft colour, this allows me to see all the lines but itโ€™s not so stark to add too much contrast to my end project. Next, I used my Simon Hurley dye inks to colour the image. Tap your ink pad on a non-stick surface, spray with water and now you have have everything you need to paint. Spritz your stamped image with some water. This allows the colours picked up by your brush to flow onto the paper, creating that dreamy,…

I have made 2020 the year that I take the planner plunge. I have two planners going at the moment; one for every day and a Vacation scrapbook-planner for an upcoming trip. For my vacation planner,ย  Iโ€™m using the Elizabeth Craft Designs Champaign colored album with the powder blue inside. I like the pop of blue on the inside! I have a confession to make. After only a few weeks of creating planner pages… Iโ€™m totally addicted! I am loving the challenge of figuring out how many different ways I can use the dies from Elizabeth Craft Designs Planner Essential line. There are pages, tags and many embellishment dies to choose from. You can create planner pages and tags out of a lot of different materials. I came home recently with this fabulous paper shopping bag: I knew the minute I saw it that I had to reuse the map…

Hello, Connie Nichol here with two projects featuring the Sea Breeze collection from Heartfelt Creations.ย  Can’t you smell the salt air right now?ย  I had a lot of fun creating projects with this collection.ย  ย It is perfect for scrapbooking maritime-themed photographs or creating beautiful sea themed cards. Here’s the Sea Breeze paper collection – beautiful colours and graphics and there are several matching stamp and die sets that will complement the paper beautifully. An important part of my projects is scrap cardboard that I covered with white gesso.ย  It reminded me of the texture of the building next to the Cape Forchu lighthouse.ย  Just save a piece of cardboard from your recycling bin (this one has particularly fine corrugations) and cover with a coat of white gesso or acrylic paint.ย  Let dry and use as the base of your card or layout. I built the card using the Heartfelt Creations…
